Rational option was the most suitable for Arab Muslim civilization as it expresses the vitality of civilization and its ability to interact with other contemporary civilizations and trends. Islamic philosophy interpretation themes are various as they adopted the following terms: 1. Interpreting the approval of the Greek philosophy in Muslim culture. 2. Interpreting the relationship between religion and philosophy. 3. Interpreting the relationship between Mind and Mind ( Plato and Aristotle ) 4. Interpreting the relationship between nature and Metaphysics. The goals of interpretation for Muslim philosophers are different as Al Kind pointed that they are oriented towards the Greek philosophy in general and towards religion and philosophy in particular while Al Farabi pointed that they are oriented towards the Greek philosophy in general and towards Plato and Aristotle. -

Abstract: This is the philosophical tale Hayy ibn Yaqzan, named after the hero of this story and written by the Muslim philosopher Ibn Tufayl (1105-1185). It was the first Arabic novel, and anticipated such European works as Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe and Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s Emile, as well as the thought of a number of western philosophers including Locke and Kant. This paper will bring out the philosophical themes contained within the novel, centred on those key philosophical questions of ‘what can we know?’ and ‘how can we know?’. -

Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, sedangkan analisis data yang digunakan adalah content analysis yakni sebagai sebuah upaya menganalisis substansi pemikiran maqāşid al- sharīah, kemudian dikorelasikan dengan konteks kehidupan masyarakat sekarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teori maqāşid al-sharīah yang digagas oleh Imam al-Syatibi telah menghadirkan shariah dalam wajahnya yang elastis. Maqāşid al-sharīah telah mentransformasikan teori-teori shariah ke dalam nilai-nilai kemanusiaan universal, seperti kemaslahatan, keadilan dan kesetaraan dalam kehidupan umat Islam. Hal ini setidaknya bisa dilihat dalam dua hal: pertama, maqāşid al-sharīah sebagai metode pengembangan hukum Islam. Reason and Narration with Ibn Rushd (Averroes) Mohammad Ali Khattab Ph.D. Comparative Religion - Associated Prof. Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Al-Balqa Applied University Amman – Jordan ABSTRACT Ibn Rushd was distinguished by his bewildering personality, stemming from being a jurist and theologist, a philosopher and physician, and an astronomer. When researching his writings, we found that he encourages a lot of reason, and puts aside everything related to revelation, at other times, you find him defending Revelation and does not care about the mind, and you see him attacking the Asha’ries. In some cases, he defends them in other places, and in some cases, he adopts the views of the predecessor, making him a collector of all contradictions. However, the beholder in his biography and history knows that he went through several stages, stamped with jurisprudential stability, moderation in judging the opponents, and a victory for the doctrine of Tafweedh. (signature) ......................................................................................... 1 ABSTRACT This research studies the theology of those Wahhabis who have now named themselves Salafis. For the purpose of the study, they are referred to as the ‘Wahhabis-self-named- Salafis’ (WSNS). The thesis starts with the observation that the WSNS are usually studied from a political perspective, much less frequently a theological one. Recent research has identified that the theological background of all the different factions of the WSNS is one and the same. This is true for the WSNS who advocate a peaceful way to achieve their goals, as well as those who do not. This thesis aims to explore some of the theological issues that unify these factions. This research demonstrates that, because the WSNS are opposed to the very concept of interpretation of the Qur’an and the hadith, especially when these texts deal with important theological issues such as the Attributes of God, they have developed a vision of Islamic history which is entirely different from the one which had traditionally been accepted by most Muslim scholars and Western academics.
