Northern Territory Election Results

Overview The Gunner Labor Government has been re-elected in the , successfully winning 13 seats required to form a majority as the counting of ballots continues. There are still 4 seats in doubt, including Araluen, Barkly, Blain, and Namatjira after the CLP won the Palmerston seat of Brennan from sitting Labor MLA Tony Sievers

Territory Alliance has lost 2 of their 3 seats, including leader and former CLP Chief Minister Terry Mills, with Araluen the only possible seat for to win. has confirmed “if I get re-elected I will be sitting in the Parliament as a member of the Territory Alliance” as counting continues in Araluen.

Formation of government: The declaration of election results will take place on Monday, 7 September, following the deadline for the receipt of postal votes on Friday, 4 September. The Electoral Commissioner will officially declare the election results, and return the writ to the Administrator, who will then formally appoint the Chief Minister.
