Classes not supported in 2020 may be deleted in 2021. CLOSE: All entry forms are to be submitted with the correct fees by Friday 18th June 2021. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Chief Executive, but double entry fees may be applicable. DELIVERY: Please carefully note dates and times for the delivery of exhibits. On delivery of entries stewards in respective sections will issue with an individual exhibit ticket/ number, exhibits will remain at the showgrounds for the duration of the show -unless otherwise stated. COLLECTION: Exhibit tickets are required for the collection of exhibits and prize money vouchers. Exhibits uncollected within week following the show may be disposed of at the Society’s discretion. PRIZE MONEY: Prize money vouchers are available from the stewards in individual sections, your exhibit ticket may be requested. Prize money voucher may be presented at the Cashier’s Office, ground floor, Foskey Pavillion, from 12 noon to 6pm on Thursday and on Friday and Saturday from 11am to 7pm of the show. Presentation of prize money voucher is required for identification to claim prize. Prizes for out of town exhibits NOT ATTENDING the show will be forwarded on request. If due to unforeseen circumstances sponsorship is not forthcoming prizes/money will not be paid by RASNT. Prize money can be collected, week 1 after show 9 am - 3.30 pm after that 9 am - 4 pm Monday to Friday. PRIZE MONEY NOT COLLECTED BY THE 31 AUGUST 2021, WILL BE FORFEITED. BUSINESSES: Prize money will be increased to cover the GST by 10%. Where prize money is in excess of $50 the Society will generate a recipient based invoice if required. If no ABN is provided the Society must retain 48.5% of the prize money to be forwarded to the Australian Taxation Office. All prize money quoted is exclusive of GST. After such a hectic and non-productive year due to the COVID pan- demic we will be back in July to have a bigger than ever show and hope you will come and make our 70th a memorable year. Over the last 70 years the show has become a showcase for the development of the Territory’s agriculture, livestock, trade, industry, horse and small animal events. Stallholders and exhibitors now show- case the latest in technology and trends keeping the show relevant to our rapidly changing times.

    Barton Deakin Brief: Northern Territory Election 19 August 2020 Overview The Northern Territory election is scheduled to be held on Saturday 22 August 2020. This election will see the incumbent Labor Party Government led by Michael Gunner seeking to win a second term against the Country Liberal Party Opposition, which lost at the 2016 election. Nearly 40 per cent of Territorians have already cast their vote in pre-polling ahead of the ballot. The ABC’s election analyst Antony Green said that a swing of 3 per cent would deprive the Government of its majority. However, it is not possible to calculate how large the swing against the Government would need to be to prevent a minority government. This Barton Deakin brief provides a snapshot of what to watch in this Territory election on Saturday. Current composition of the Legislative Assembly The Territory has a single Chamber, the Legislative Assembly, which is composed of 25 members. Currently, the Labor Government holds 16 seats (64 per cent), the Country Liberal Party Opposition holds two seats (8 per cent), the Territory Alliance holds three seats (12 per cent), and there are four independents (16 per cent). In late 2018, three members of the Parliamentary Labor Party were dismissed for publicly criticising the Government’s economic management after a report finding that the budget was in “structural deficit”. Former Aboriginal Affairs Minister Ken Vowles, Jeff Collins, and Scott McConnell were dismissed. Mr Vowles later resigned from Parliament and was replaced at a by-election in February 2020 by former Richmond footballer Joel Bowden (Australian Labor Party).

    24 Aug 2020 Northern Territory Election Results Overview Labor is set to form government in the Northern Territory, as counting of ballots continues today. Labor has secured 12 seats in the Legislative Assembly so far, ahead of the CLP’s 3. Labor requires 13 seats to form majority government. Confirmed seats • NT Labor: 12 seats • Country Liberal Party: 4 seats • Independents: 2 seats There are still 7 seats in doubt, including Araluen, Barkly, Blain, Braitling, Brennan, Fong Lim and Namatjira. The Northern Territory Electoral Commission will also be correcting the two candidate preferred counts across Blain, Fong Lim, Johnston and Katherine as ballot papers are recounted. Territory Alliance has lost 2 of their 3 seats, including leader and former CLP Chief Minister Terry Mills, with Araluen the only possible seat for Territory Alliance to win. Robyn Lambley has confirmed “if I get re-elected I will be sitting in the Parliament as a member of the Territory Alliance” as counting continues in Araluen. That is where she created her first painting, Karen’s art has developed enormously in the time that she has been studying at Batchelor and she encourages other Ngukurr artists to study there. Karen has tried many new skills in the past few years, but at Ngukurr she is the resident screen printer, she creates and prints all the designs herself using mainly stencils and rollers.
