Situated in the west of , on the border with Hertfordshire, Harlow is well connected with junction 7 of the M11 motorway from London to Cambridge and Stansted Airport under half an hour away. The A414 is close at hand to Park Lane and runs between Hertford and and also links Harlow with the A10 to the west. The journey to London Liverpool Street takes just over half an hour and there is also a bus service taking around 25 minutes to Epping tube station on the . Harlow offers a plethora of entertainment and culture, including the Playhouse Welcome to Harlow Theatre, live entertainment venues, art galleries and cinemas. Known as the “World’s First Sculpture Town”, items from the Harlow Sculpture Collection, which includes works by Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, are sited across the town. Old Harlow is just to the east of the town centre and has the Victoria Hall, a former church with a variety of events from traditional theatre through adaptations of fiction to musicals. Harlow is also somewhat of a modern-day artist’s retreat with a dedicated gallery and studios at the historic Parndon Mill by the river. Harlow Town and Old Harlow offer a variety of independent and chain restaurants, pubs, bars and venues, catering for all tastes. There are many establishments within walking distance of Park Lane and an even wider choice in nearby Bishop’s Stortford.

A major feature of Harlow is its green wedges, with over 1/3 of the town being parkland or open space. The Town Park is one of the largest urban parks in Britain, and occupies a large area of the central town. The busy streets of Harlow are also just a stone’s throw from the gentle calm of the River Stort with the option of lovely strolls along the towpaths through classic Hertfordshire scenery. For all your retails needs there is the bustling Harvey Centre hosting many high street names and department stores, along with the Oaks Retail Park nearby and Saint James Retail Park in Old Harlow.
