Supreme Headquarters for the world wide Knights of Columbus Organization recently announced that the Calais Assembly #0342 was one of only two Assemblies in the State of Maine to receive the CIVIC AWARD for the Fraternal year 2019/2020. The State District Master Duane Belanger came from Fort Kent to make the special presentation and install this year’s officers at a recent ceremony held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Calais. The Civic Award is presented to those 4th Degree Assemblies that conduct at least four reported programs to the Supreme Office involving patriotic civic activities. The 4th Degree is the highest degree in the Knights of Columbus organization. The Calais Assembly received its charter in 1958. The Calais 4th Degree has recently bought a number of wreaths for the Wreaths Across American program as well.
