The County Council (A616 – to South Muskham in Ollerton, Wellow, , , , , South Muskham and Little Carlton) (50 M.P.H. Speed Limit) Order 2018) (3277)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Traffic Management Act 2004, as amended, and The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County of Nottinghamshire) Designation Order 2008 (SI 2008 No. 1086), as amended, the effects of which will be to roads in Ollerton, Wellow, Ompton, Kneesall, Kersall, Caunton, South Muskham and Little Carlton in the District of :-

1. A616 Wellow Road, Ollerton and Newark Road, Wellow – from a point 174 metres south- east of its junction with Kingfisher Way in a south-easterly direction to a point 145 metres west of a point opposite the centre line of its junction with Road, Wellow (as measured along the northern kerb line). 2. A616 Newark Road, Wellow and Ompton – from a point 56 metres south-east of the property boundary between 4 and 5 Newark Road, Wellow in a south-easterly direction to a point 127 metres north-west of the centre line of Flash Lane, Ompton. 3. A616 Newark Road, Ompton and Kneesall – from a point 466 metres south-east of the centre line with Flash Lane, Ompton in a south-easterly direction to a point 13 metres north-west of the centre line with Road, Kneesall. 4. A616 Ollerton Road, Kneesall, Kersall, Caunton, South Muskham and Little Carlton – from a point 88 metres south-east of the south-eastern property boundary of Fortune House, Kneesall in a south-easterly direction to a point approximately 35 metres north-west of its junction with Ollerton Road, South Muskham and Little Carlton. 5. Manor Road, Caunton – from its junction with the A616 Ollerton Road in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 104 metres (as measured along the south-eastern kerb line). 6. Newark Road, Caunton – from its junction with the A616 Ollerton Road in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 270 metres (as measured along the centre line)

The proposed 50mph speed limit would be in keeping with the recommendations made as part of the A and B road speed limit review. A lower speed limit would be better suited to the hilly twisting sections of the road. The new speed limit would replace the existing National Speed Limit (60mph) between Ollerton and the start of the existing 50mph speed limit at South Muskham/Little Carlton.

The Written objections (stating grounds and quoting ref. 3277) must be received by me by the 16th day of July 2018.
