SERIES I.: ADMINISTRATIVE FILES, 1999-2014 Meeting minutes, dated 1999-2014, make up the bulk of this series. In addition to listing basic information about meetings, such as when it was held and who attended, the minutes also provide a brief synopsis of the short stories and poems that each member read aloud to the group. A small collection of other materials, such as bylaws and correspondence regarding a website update, are also included. SERIES II.: SOCIAL EVENTS AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, 1949-2014 This series consists of newspaper clippings, fliers, and other materials documenting the club’s social activities and community involvement. Several notable events are discussed, including the club’s 100th Anniversary celebration, the 20th World Congress of Poets, and a writing contest held at Brantwood Children’s Home. SERIES III: MEMBERSHIP RECORDS, 1921-2015, undated This series is divided into two subseries: A. Directories and Biography Lists and B. Membership Files. SUBSERIES A: DIRECTORIES AND BIOGRAPHY LISTS, 1921-2015 This subseries primarily consists of annual directories compiled between 1976-2015, although some earlier material is also included. SUBSERIES B: MEMBERSHIP FILES, undated Membership files make up the bulk of this series and are arranged alphabetically by last name. Files related to club members active in the 2000s contain the most information, often including newspaper clippings, photographs, and unpublished drafts of the member’s writings. Membership files related to earlier club members, such as Zelda Fitzgerald, are typically limited and may contain only a bibliography of published works. A small number of files, including the file related to Scottie Fitzgerald Smith, contain letters exchanged between club members. Several of the membership files also contain published works written by club members. When a published work is included in this series, the book’s title is denoted in italics. IV. SCRAPBOOK AND OVERSIZED MATERIALS, 1982-2014 This series contains a scrapbook, a series of loose scrapbook pages, and a commendation from Governor Robert Bentley acknowledging the club’s 100th anniversary. The scrapbook contains photographs of club events held between 1982 and 2010. In most of the photographs, club members are clearly identified. A small number of loose scrapbook pages are also included. These loose pages document a writing contest held at Brantwood in 2008-2009.
