Nukkadwala Introduces Rajasthani Dal Baati Churma by : INVC Team Published on : 1 Nov, 2017 12:00 AM IST Nukkadwala introduces Rajasthani Dal Baati Churma By : INVC Team Published On : 1 Nov, 2017 12:00 AM IST INVC NEWS New Delhi, Walk into the royal lanes of Rajasthan with the famous traditional delicacy – Dal Baati Churma. It consists of authentically tadka Dal served with desi-ghee Baatis or flaky round breads. These were earlier baked over firewood or over kandas (i.e. cow dung cakes) in villages; however, Baatis can be baked in a gas tandoor or an electric oven as well. But these Baatis, irrespective of their cooking technique, are always glazed with desi-ghee to enhance their flavours, also accompanied with Churma. Churma, being an accompaniment, is a sweet, semi-crunchy delicacy topped with rich nuts like pista, almonds, cashews, and cardamom etc. Baati (little dough balls made of wheat flour, ghee and milk) is believed to have originated in the kingdom of Mewar. Back then, the Rajputs were establishing their stronghold in the region and Baati was their preferred war time meal. Nukkadwala provides enticingly new dishes for every palate that loves Indian food and culture. Proffering constant updates in their menu nearly every month, they are all prepped to introduce another pure delicacy from the princely state of Rajasthan - desi Dal Baati Churma across all their stores. Priced at Rs. 159 only, and made available in a combo as well, it will be enriched with the same rich flavours but, only for the month of November. Being prepared in the original Rajasthani style, it will also be served in a wooden platter along with teekhi-chatpati chutney to add a royal twist. They are expecting Dal Baati Churma to be appreciated as much as their newly introduced desi-style Aloo Chips, adorned with a new chataakedaar twist, and added extra crunch! Nukkadwala by Vatika group proudly represents the treasured chain of smart & stylish QSR. “Our inspiration are more than 5 million street vendors across India who peddle tiny morsels of varied foods everyday”, says Gaurav Bhalla, Founder, Nukkadwala. Their each dish stirs up nostalgia, making every bite everlasting. “We ensure that all the Indian flavours remain authentic, assuring that they are dispensed and served quickly, further working dedicatedly on our processes. It’s our passion about food that vouches all our customers for a satisfied taste, and premium quality even though being a QSR model”, adds Mr. Gaurav Bhalla. Not just the Indian delicacies, it’s their peppy Chattar-pattar menu that contributes to Nukkadwala’s pride. Array of everybody’s childhood favourites like the chatpata Aam Papad, jelly Lollipop, sweet candies and many more, are also put out for retailing purposes. Their decor is an amalgamation of vintage and urban ambiance. With old Bollywood classics being played, their tasty food simply adds to the value for money & one’s love for street food. Their store’s simplicity, too, welcomes people from all demographics and this effort by Vatika group fills a gap that has always existed in QSR industry combining Indian food from all across in a systematic manner. They have also recently introduced Indian food combos which are a unique concept in its own for the first time in the country where they combine Indian snacks, dishes and beverages in combos which are called Medley Meals. These diverse flavours apart from being relished across their 10 stores in Delhi NCR will also soon be savoured overseas in London, New York, Dubai! The Mira Press And That's How The Cookie Crumbles FOR STUDENTS, BY STUDENTS V O L U M E 5 1 8 T H N O V E M B E R , 2 0 2 0 From the Editors' Desk Have you ever heard of the term 'to break bread'? Derived from quite literally sharing a loaf of bread with another, the phrase has come to mean so much more recently; carrying the connotation of compassion, kindness and a sense of fraternity. There's something so irrevocably communal and comforting about the concept of sharing what keeps you alive: not just the physical food that you eat, but the bond that you create through sharing a meal. That's what we hope to extend to you in this edition of the periodical: some kind words inviting you to join us at our table, and a heavy- handed helping of good will. Take a seat, grab a plate, and enjoy yourselves as we dish up some of the best student articles for you to feast your eyes on. So, what are you waiting for? Dig in! Daily Diversity My extremely doting grandma could just not stop feeding me with all the different kind of dishes. This time she made me a special Boli Roti. Confused about what Boli Roti is? Well, it’s not a talking roti. It is a crazy food combination, where a roti (or a chapati) is fully immersed in ghee and then eaten with aamras, and it originates from Khargone. Ahhh! Talk about craziness! I have an extremely weird friend who makes me her prey for trying the food she makes.
