2019 Scarlino Winter Series NOTICE of RACE 2019 Scarlino Winter Series 18/20 January 2019 – ACT 1 15/17 February 2019 – ACT 2 1 15/17 March 2019 – ACT 3 2 NOTICE OF RACE Latest amendment: December 13, 2018. The Organizing Authority is Club Nautico Scarlino. 1. RULES 1.1 This event will be governed by: (a) the Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020 (RRS), (b) the attending classes Class Rules, (c) the World Sailing Special Regulations Governing Offshore Racing Category 4. (d) RRS 55 is in force. (e) The Prescriptions of the FIV to the RRS will not apply. (f) In the event of a discrepancy between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, the Sailing Instructions take precedence. (this changes RRS rule 63.7). 2. ADVERTISING 2.1 Advertising is permitted in accordance with WS Regulation 20. 2.2 Boats may be required to display advertising and bow numbers chosen and supplied by the Organizing Authority. 2.3 Italian sailors aiming to display advertising should display the Licenza FIV valid for 2019. 3. ELEGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The event is open to all boats of the ClubSwan 50, Swan 45, ClubSwan 42, Melges 20 and J70 Class, with valid Measurement Certificate and Measurement Forms. 3.2 Additional one Design classes interested in participating can contact the OA at least one month before each act. A minimum of 4 boats per class are required to be added to the Scarlino Winter Series. Dedicated entry fees will be calculated, based on the type of Class. 3.3 The World Sailing Eligibility Code, World Sailing Regulation 19 shall apply. Crew lists and World Sailing Sailor IDs for all crew, as well as declarations of 1 alternate, substitute and relief helmsmen shall be submitted by email to the Class Manager no later than 15 days before the first race of each event: - SWAN 45 CLASS MANAGER: [email protected]; - CLUBSWAN 50 CLASS MANAGER: [email protected]; - CLUBSWAN 42 CLASS MANAGER: [email protected]. 3.4 Crew Lists will be displayed on the Official Notice Board within 20:00 on Friday. 3.5 The Classification Protest Time Limit will be at 10:00 on Saturday. 3.6 Eligible boats may enter through the official electronic form on the event webpage (HERE ), to be sent by e-mail to [email protected] 3.7 The fully completed entry form shall be received by the OA no later than 15 days before each weekend, accompanied by the required entry fee. 3.8 Entries may be accepted after the closing date at discretion of OA, but will be subject to a late-entry supplement. 3.9 ITALIAN SAILORS ONLY: I concorrenti italiani dovranno essere in possesso della tessera FIV in corso di validità, comprese le prescrizioni sanitarie. 4 ENTRY FEE 4.1 The entry fees (to be paid at last 15 days before each event) are as follows: ENTRY FEE FOR SCARLINO WINTER SERIES 2019 (3 2 ACTS) ClubSwan 50 700 € 1000 € Swan 45 & ClubSwan 42 600€ 900€ Melges 20 & J70 450€ 700€ ENTRY FEE FOR SINGLE ACT Payment received 15 days before the act ClubSwan 50 400 € Swan 45 & ClubSwan 42 35 0€ Melges 20 & J70 250€ 4.2 Bank transfer information: CLUB NAUTICO SCARLINO BANK NAME: Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze Agenzia di Follonica – Via Roma,82 58022 Follonica (GR) SWIFT : CRFI IT 3F IBAN : IT87L0616072242100000001943 4.3 All Bank charges are at the expense of the competitor. National letters, sail number and boat’s name shall be included with payment (e.g. “ITA 5016 CUORDILEONE”). 5. SCHEDULE 6.1 Fin below the preliminary schedule for the event: Thursday January 17; Thursday February 14; Thursday March 14 Registrations 14.00-18.00 2 Friday January 18; Friday February 15; Friday March 15 Practice 11.00 After sailing debriefing. Saturday January 19; Saturday February 16; Saturday March 16 Racing 11.00 After race debriefing + crew aperitivo. Sunday January 20; Sunday February 17; Sunday March 17 Racing 11.00 Sunday March 17 Final Prize-giving ceremony 16:30 6.2 The scheduled time of warning signal for the first race is 12:00. 6.3 A maximum of 5 races are scheduled per event. There will be no discard. 6.4 Final Scarlino Winter Series scoring will be the total of a boat’s results, with the following discard system: 9 to 101 races = 1 discard; 12 or more races = 2 discards. 6.5 No race shall start after 14.30 hours on Sunday. 6.6 The OA and/or RC reserve the right to modify the program because of weather conditions or for any other reason. 7. PENALTY SYSTEM Rule 44.1 of the RRS is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by a One-Turn Penalty. 8. SAILING INSTRUCTION SI will be available at registration from Thursday 17 January 14 February 2019, and may be posted on the event website at an earlier date. 9. VENUE 9.1 The venue will be Club Nautico Scarlino – Marina di Scarlino – Località Puntone – 58020 Scarlino (GR) ITALY 9.2 The race area will be in the waters off Marina di Scarlino, Follonica Gulf. A diagram of the Race Area will be attached to the SI. 10. THE COURSE The course will be shown in details in the SI and will be a windward/leeward or trapezoid type of course. All classes will share the same racing course. 11. SUPPORT BOATS 11.1 Support boats shall register with the OA, filling the form provided by the race office. 12. BERTHING Boats whose entry has been confirmed for the regatta, will have a berthing place reserved, free of charge (included in the entry fee) from Friday to 3 Sunday. PRIZES 13.1 The following prizes will be awarded: (a) 1st , 2 nd , 3 rd of each class in Scarlino Winter Series overall scoring. (b) Each Class winner of ACT 1, ACT 2 and ACT 3. (c) All prizes will be awarded at final prize-giving, scheduled on Sunday March 17. Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the OA. Details will be posted on the Official Notice Board. 14. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY The Organizing Authority and any person or entity involved in the organization of the event will not accept any liability for loss damage, injury or nuisances to people or things, both on the water or ashore, occurring as a result of taking part in the event announced in this Notice of Race. Competitors participate in the event entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4 (decision to race). 15. INSURANCE Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1.500.000 Euro per incident or equivalent. 16. CHANGES TO THE NOTICE OF RACE The organisation reserves itself the right to change this Notice of Race. Any change made to this Notice of Race prior to the 18 January 15 February 2019, will be published on the event’s website (according to RRS 88.2). 17. Začínají první závody a majitelé lodí se snaží dokončit opravy, které byly naplánovány na podzim, ale jaksi se na ně ještě nedostala řada v servisu, nebo o tom ve svém servisu trochu zapomněli říct. Máte několik možností. Buď se „kousnete“ a uděláte si to sami, nebo se rozhodnete, že to ještě rok vydrží. Asi nejobtížnější teď bude přesvědčit dobrý servis, aby právě Vaši zakázku upřednostnil. Šikovných techniků s chutí do práce je totiž v poslední době kritický nedostatek. Slyším to ze všech stran. V redakci začal každoroční jarní maraton testů. This event is included in the IMA 2020 Racing Calendar and in the Wally Class Official Circuit, and is a qualifying event for the IMA Mediterranean inshore Challenge.
