EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 1. This detailed Paper discusses a range of factual and international legal issues relating to the military operation undertaken by the Israel Defence Forces (―IDF‖) in Gaza in December 2008–January 2009 (the ―Gaza Operation‖). 2.
