Below you will find travel tips and estimated costs for travel both to and from the airport and around town.

Transportation To/From Airports

Below, a list of transportation options has been provided for your convenience. Please arrange your transportation prior to your arrival or consult the ground transportation service booth upon arriving at the airport. Ground Transportation information is available in the baggage claim/arrival areas of all airport terminals. A current, comprehensive listing of public transportation is also available through the New York/New Jersey Port Authority website at: http://www.panynj.gov/airports/.

AirTrain Newark-

From Airport: AirTrain is accessible at Newark International Airport terminals and directly connects to NJ Transit (Northeast Corridor Line and North Jersey Coast Line) servicing 's Pennsylvania Station (34th Street and 7th Avenue). Transfer is also available from NJ transit trains at Newark's Pennsylvania Station to New Jersey PATH trains, arriving at New York City at 33rd Street and 6th Avenue.

AirTrain JFK-

From Airport: Trip from JFK to Howard Beach Station or Jamaica Station will average 12 minutes. - $5 From Howard Beach, take the A subway line to . 60-75 min. $2.25 From Jamaica Station, take E, F, Z subway lines. 60-75 minutes $2.25

Directions to NYU Langone Medical Center (550 )

Manhattan is easily accessed by both bus and subway. A “Single-Ride” ticket for a NYC Subway or Bus ride is $2.50. One transfer between buses or between a subway and a bus is free. You may purchase a “Pay-Per-Ride” MetroCard from vending machines located in any subway; each ride will cost $2.25. You may buy a Metrocard for as many rides as you want, from $4.50 to $80, and add more money at vending machine as you require. If you put $10 or more on your card you will receive a 7 percent bonus. A one- week unlimited Metrocard is $29.

Subway: The “6” line runs up and down the east side of Manhattan, and the “28th Street” or “33rd Street” stops are closest to the NYU Medical Center. When you exit the subway station, you will need to walk to 1st Avenue between 31st and 32nd Street. The Medical Center’s main entrance is between 31st and 32nd Streets, and the School of Medicine entrance is located in the main lobby.

From Penn Station: Take the A, C, or E trains uptown to “42nd Street ” stop. Transfer to the "S" or "7" train across town to Grand Central Station. From Grand Central take the "6" train downtown one stop to “33rd Street”. When you exit the subway you will be on Park Avenue South, which is walking distance away from both the hotels and conference site.

Bus: The closest bus lines are the lines, which run uptown on First Avenue and downtown on Second Avenue, the , which runs cross-town on 23rd Street, and the M34 and M34A that run cross-town on 34th Street.

Taxi: Yellow "medallion" taxis can be hailed on the street for short or long trips. Taxi fares vary depending on the distance and travel-time involved.

Parking

Street parking in Manhattan is very limited. There are many parking garages located in the vicinity of the hotels and NYU Medical Center. Most garages have Early Bird Specials (enter garage between 6-10 a.m. for 12 hours of parking) for rates of $12-18. Day Specials (park for 12 hours) are typically priced $15-22. Some garages may have discounted rates for weekend parking. Please be sure to read all posted signs regarding parking times and pricing. Parking violation tickets in New York City are exorbitant.

Foreign Currency Exchange
