Overheat Safety Feature This heater is equipped with an overheat safety feature. When the heater’s internal components reach a certain temperature that could cause overheating and possible fire, the heater will automatically shut off. To reset, turn the master power switch on the rear of the unit to off position. Unplug the heater and let it cool down for 20 minutes. Plug the heater back into the wall outlet and restart the heater. Tip-Over Safety Feature This heater is equipped with a tip-over safety feature. Once the heater is tipped over, an internal switch will automatically shut the unit off. Once the unit is restored to an upright position it will reset. Restart the heater.

Grounded Cordset This appliance has a three prong grounded plug that must be inserted into a matching properly grounded outlet to reduce the risk of electrical shock. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. If the plug does not fit contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).

! WARNING SAFETY FEATURES WARNING: This heater has a voltage rating of 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown in (A). An adapter as shown in (C) is available for connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to two-slot receptacles (B). The grounding lug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.

DO NOT DEFEAT THE SAFETY PURPOSE OF THE GROUNDED PLUG.

WARNING: It is normal for the power cord to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose fit between the outlet and the plug may cause overheating of the plug. If the plug is loose, do not use this outlet. If the plug is loose, try inserting the plug into a different outlet. Contact a qualified electrician to inspect the original outlet. 6 Model No. CZHHAP

WARNING: Any other service should be WARNING: The manufacturer shall not be liable in performed by a certified electrician specialist or the event that the instructions in this manual are by an authorized service representative. not observed and followed. Cautions and Reminders • The heater grill is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch the hot surface. Keep combustible materials such as pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least three feet (0.9 meters) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear. • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended. • To disconnect the heater, turn power off, allow the heater to cool down and fan to stop. Turn master power switch to OFF position and remove plug from outlet. Always unplug the heater when not in use.

Performance Suggestions To assure maximum performance of the heater, please note the following recommendations:

1. For best results, do not locate the heater in an area with a high rate of air filtration and movement as it will effect the unit's thermostat 2. Try placing the heater near a warmer inside wall and direct the output towards a cooler outside wall. The cooler outside wall will tend to draw the generated heat towards itself, which will allow for more efficient heating. 3. Placing the heater next to a cold air return will draw the heat away from area to be heated. Try closing or covering the cold air return. This will allow for more efficient heating. Experiment with the placement of the heater to see what works best for you. 4. To ensure maximum efficiency, a 40% (minimum) relative humidity should be maintained in the heating environment. 5. This heater is designed to operate for maximum efficiency up to 80-82° F. (26.7-27.7° C.) range. Soft heat concept makes temperatures of 68° F. (20° C.) feel as though it were 72° F. (22° C.). This is due to the heat mixing with the humidity evenly for full body comfort. 6. When the heater is placed in an isolated area such as a basement or recreation area, the delivery registers and air return grills of the existing heating system should be closed during heater use in that area if possible. 7. Try placing the heater a few feet above the floor in rooms with large areas of bare concrete. Make sure the heater is secure and will not fall. This will allow for more efficient heating since concrete acts like a heat sink and will tend to draw the heat in its direction. 8. Try lowering your central heating system to a lower temperature and placing the heater in the area that you spend a majority of your time. Now set the heater to your comfort level. This will help reduce your overall energy consumption. 9. When heating larger areas, place the heater in a central location. If a ceiling fan is nearby, try using it at low speed at the same time to help distribute the heat evenly. 10. If used in an extremely dirty or dusty area, the filter must be cleaned more frequently as the filter can clog and cause the heater to stop working. Please refer to "How To Clean the Air Cleaner" section of this manual for instructions. 10 troubleshooting 11 Solution The heater fan will not work until the heating element not work until the heating element The heater fan will heat the air as it passes by is hot enough to effectively will turnthe element.
