Backing up its commitment to ensure that Racer student-ath- letes have every opportunity to excel in the classroom as well as on the athletic fi elds, Murray State athletics has established a state-of-the-art academic center. Named in honor of longtime supporters Jan and Dick Weav- er, who provided funding for the building of the center, the Weav- er Academic Enhancement Cen- ter was opened at on June 30, 1997, and immediately began to pay divi- dends in the MSU athletics pro- gram. Today, the Weaver Center is a spacious facility equipped with individual and group study areas, but the centerpiece of the Weav- er Center is its computer lab.
