Mills threw for four touchdowns, including the game-winner with one minute remaining, in San Di- ego’s 34-27 non-conference victory against Western New Mexico, Saturday. His 303 yards passing were the bulk of the Toreros’ 361 offensive yards and he was responsible for all four of the team’s touchdowns. Mills gave San Diego a 17-7 halftime lead with two second-quarter scoring drives. After the Toreros surrendered that lead, Mills pieced together scoring drives of 72 and 84 yards in the fourth quarter and his 29-yard completion to Reggie Bell secured the win. He completed 27- of-37 passes for 303 yards and an impressive 177.4 pass efficiency rating. Dewhirst had two touchdowns, including a 39-yard interception return for a touchdown, in Jack- sonvile’s 31-10 non-conference victory at Charleston Southern, Saturday. His third quarter inter- ception return was the Dolphins first touchdown of the contest. Defensively, he also had six tack- les (four solo), a pass break up and a fumble recovery. The fumble recovered setup Jacksonville’s third touchdown drive at the Charleston Southern 47-yard line. Dewhirst also added a special team’s touchdown, returning an on-side kickoff 44 yards for the game’s final score. Collins was named the National Placekicker of the Week after converting field goals of 37 and 51 yards and was 4-of-4 on PATs against Western New Mexico. Dewhirst was the National Kickoff Returner of the Week after a 44-yard onside kick return for a touchdown against Charleston Southern.
