2-1-19 Dear Dolsen Families Because of the additional cancelled school days, our schedule has been adjusted once more. The second semester now begins on Mon. Feb, 4, 2019. As we have reported in the past, report cards will be available electronically this semester. Report card access letters will be sent home with all students on Tue, Feb. 12, 2019 along with NWEA MAP Growth information for all students and updated IRIPS if your child has one.

Outdoor Recess Just a reminder that students have outdoor recess when the temperature (with windchill) is above 0. Please be sure to send your children to school with winter gear.

Scholastic Book Fair Our Scholastic Book Fair runs through Fri, Feb. 8, 2019. Students will be able to shop during their regular library times and also during on Fri, Feb 8, 2019. As long as PTO has enough volunteers, it will also be open during BWB on Fri morning. See the notice below

Breakfast with a Buddy The second with a Buddy will be held on Fir, Feb. 8, 2019. Students with the last name beginning with L-Z can bring their “buddy” to school (parent, grandparent, family friend) and enjoy donuts and juice and also shop the Scholastic Book Fair from 8:00 till 8:45 am. Active Faith Drive For the month of February Active Faith will be collecting Instant Oatmeal. We will have a drop off box by the front door.

Community Forum – ALICE Safety Protocols SLCS is hosting a community forum on Wed, Feb. 13, 2019, in the Millennium Middle School . The presentation will begin at 7:00 pm. During this valuable time, the School Resource Officers assigned to SLCS will discuss the ALICE safety protocols that the District has adopted this year. The school staff has been trained using these protocols and the students have had and will continue to practice age-specific variations to these protocols during the state- mandated safety drills. These protocols are beneficial for all individuals as they can be used in various venues that we utilize as citizens. Please consider attending to learn about these research-proven protocols to empower you and your family.
