Nowadays many cities use events as the promotional tool. Therefore event impacts the municipality and community. Some of the big events are organized in small towns, where tourism is not well developed. The objective of this study was to find out the impacts of the event to a small community, based on Jarocin Festival. The case study is one of the most popular festivals in Poland, which is organized in a small town called Jarocin. Data for this study were collected by primary research method, and information found in secondary sources, including: internet, articles and studies. To com- plete the research, a questionnaire was carried out among event organizers, Jarocin municipality and community. The results of this research show what is the impact of the event on the host community and how Jarocin Festival impacts the town and its residents. By contrast, music which is popular but perceived as “bad” has generated surprisingly little interest. This dissertation looks at Polish post-socialist music through the lenses of musical phenomena that came to prominence after socialism collapsed but which are perceived as controversial, undesired, shameful, and even dangerous. They run the gamut from the perceived nadir of popular music to some works of the most renowned contemporary classical composers that are associated with the suffix -polo, an expression -

l Research Article Music & Science Volume 3: 1–14 ª The Author(s) 2020 Content and Correlational Analysis Article reuse guidelines: sagepub.com/journals-permissions of a Corpus of MTV-Promoted Music DOI: 10.1177/2059204320902369 Videos Aired Between 1990 and 1999 journals.sagepub.com/home/mns Brad Osborn , Emily Rossin and Kevin Weingarten Abstract From 1990 to 1999 MTV promoted a series of 288 music videos called “Buzz Clips”, designed to highlight emerging artists and genres. Such promotion had a measurable impact on an artists’ earnings and record sales. To date, the kinds of musical and visual practices MTV promoted have not been quantitatively analyzed. Just what made some videos Buzzworthy, and others not? We applied two phases of content analysis to this corpus to determine the most common sonic and visual signifiers in Buzz Clips, then processed the results of that content analysis using polychoric correlations. Our findings show high degrees of shared variance between certain pairs of musical and visual elements observed in the sample music videos. We interpret a number of these relationships in terms of their relevance to a performer’s perceived ethnicity and gender, showing how certain audiovisual features regularly accompany white men (e.g., electric guitar) while others regularly accompany women and performers of color (e.g. drum machines). This text has briefly characterized the five levels on which the possible activity of people who understand and identify with the punk subculture in a different way can be considered. First of all: contemporary Polish punk takes part in concerts, often organized In the form of large music events, where through the outfit he expresses his passion for the subculture. The second possibility Is to refer to the splendour of the Polish punk through sentimentaljourneysin timeintheform of events, books, films, interviews with musicians playing on the punk stages in the 80s or the participants of these events. The third option is the social activity, undertaken in the spirit of anarchism and freedom, opposition to capitalist rules, where the outfit and the punk-styled external look sometimes move to the background. The fourth option of activity of contemporary punks are informal groups, which spend their free time through their nihilist and anarchist lifestyle and the use of stimulants. Finally, the fifth element of expressingthe punk subculture Is pulling it into the fashion trends in chain stores with clothing, thanks to which it becomes one of the products to choose from and at the same time is devoid of an ideological layer. -
