They are ingenious in that respect. An idea or a person who has the power to change a system will almost always be stripped of enough of that power until it no longer becomes a threat to substantively change anything of consequence. • A Study Investigating the Relaxation Effects of the Music Track Weightless by Marconi Union in Consultation with Lyz Cooper
A Study Investigating the Relaxation Effects of the Music Track Weightless by Marconi Union in consultation with Lyz Cooper RADOX SPA/MISCHIEF PR OBJECTIVE The aim of the study is twofold. Firstly to validate the claim that the new track ‘Weightless’ by Marconi Union (commissioned by Radox Spa) is more relaxing than other music tracks that are considered relaxing and secondly to compare the relaxation effects of a massage with the Radox Spa track. INTRODUCTION BY DR DAVID LEWIS - AUTHER OF ONE MINUTE STRESS MANAGER ‘Music has charms to sooth a savage breast,’ wrote the 17th century poet William Congreve, in his poem The Mourning Bride. This new study for Radox confirms the truth of his words. Certain pieces of music do indeed possess the power to calm even the most stressed out individuals by soothing frazzled minds and relaxing bodies. The study confirmed certain music has the capacity to lower heart rate, slow breathing and decrease levels of the stress hormone ‘cortisol’ in the blood. Other researchers have reported that music can also speed recovery from surgery and help overcome anxiety and depression. How can music exert such a powerful effect? Brain imaging studies have shown that music works at a very deep level within the brain, stimulating not only those regions responsible for processing sound but also ones associated with emotions. When listening to music we engage both the logical left and artistic right sides of our brain, which is why it can exert surprising and positive benefits, not only in combating daily stress but also in aiding such mentally challenging activities as memorising, learning a language, focusing attention and developing physical coordination.

  • Naperville Jaycees' Last Fling Offers National and Local Musical Acts On
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 7, 2019 Contact: Karen Coleman 630.362.6683 [email protected] Naperville Jaycees’ Last Fling Offers National and Local Musical Acts on Two Stages! Naperville, IL – The Naperville Jaycees is proud to announce their full musical lineup for the Main Stage and Jackson Avenue Block Party Stage for the 2019 Last Fling. The Last Fling takes place all along the Riverwalk in Downtown Naperville over all 4 days of Labor Day weekend. “This year’s event will feel a lot more like your typical music festival. We decided to open the Main Stage gates earlier than most previous years to give patrons an opportunity to enjoy music throughout the day and allow them to come and go as they please. I really feel as if we have a solid line up this year and I hope that the community will come out, have some fun and help raise some money with us at the 2019 Last Fling,” says Entertainment Co-Chair Danielle Tufano. 2019 Main Stage Acts: The Last Fling Main Stage will start rocking on Friday night (August 30) with headliner Better Than Ezra. Before their omnipresent 1995 single “Good” hit No. 1, before their debut album Deluxe went double-platinum, before popular shows such as Desperate Housewives licensed their song “Juicy,” before Taylor Swift attested to their timeless appeal by covering their track “Breathless” — New Orleans’ Better Than Ezra was a pop-rock act paying its dues, traveling from town to town in a ramshackle van. Over two decades after the band formed, that vigilance still resonates strongly with the trio, who were finally rewarded after seven years of stubbornly chasing their dreams.

Ebook A Devil On One Shoulder And An Angel On The Other: The Story Of Shannon Hoon And Freeware One of the most tragic stories of the 1990’s rock world was that of singer Shannon Hoon, and his band, Blind Melon. Despite scoring one of the decade’s most enduring singles and videos, “No Rain,â€Âand a quadruple platinum hit with their 1992 self-titled debut album (in addition to touring alongside rock’s biggest names), Hoon could not overcome a dangerous drug addiction. Only two records into a promising career, Hoon was dead from an overdose at the age of 28. ‘A Devil on One Shoulder and an Angel on the Other’ is the first book to tell the group’s storyâ€â€culled from over 50 exclusive interviews (including the surviving band members and those closest to the band) and featuring many never-before-seen photos. “I am honored that Greg has painstakingly accounted for what the hell happened during those crazy times. He has summed up all the chaos, jubilation, and paranoia that is Blind Melon.†-Brad Smith, Blind Melon bassist Paperback: 344 pages Publisher: Greg Prato (September 17, 2008) Language: English ISBN-10: 0615252397 ISBN-13: 978-0615252391 Product Dimensions: 6 x 0.8 x 9 inches Shipping Weight: 1.3 pounds (View shipping rates and policies) Average Customer Review: 4.7 out of 5 stars 97 customer reviews Best Sellers Rank: #455,814 in Books (See Top 100 in Books) #168 in Books > Arts & Photography > Music > Musical Genres > Heavy Metal #978 in Books > Biographies & Memoirs > Historical > Europe > Great Britain #1416 in Books > Arts & Photography > Music > History & Criticism "People who know and love Shannon will enjoy reliving the moments chronicled.
