Ici, on peut passer du temps dans la cathédrale, au coeur du Vieux Lyon. Son horloge astronomique est une des plus anciennes d’Europe (1383, au moins) et donne l’heure exacte jusqu’en 2019. Elle sonne plusieurs fois par jour avec un défilé de personnages. L’ENS Lyon lui a consacré une page scientifique très détaillée. La cathédrale est aussi appelée primatiale (pas courant comme nom !) : l’archevêque de Lyon a le titre historique de primat des Gaules. Si vous logez à l’auberge de jeunesse au- dessus de Saint-Jean, vous avez la chance de pouvoir admirer la lumière sur cette cathédrale. Elle est particulièrement sublime au lever du soleil. Ou au coucher. La place Saint-Jean qui a (enfin) été dégagée de ses voitures a en son milieu une belle fontaine où l’on peut trouver des sujets de photos intéressants. C’est aussi une alternative à la statue de Louis XIV place Bellecour pour certains RDV. 2. Le quartier a une histoire de plus de mille ans. Il a failli disparaître après la deuxième guerre quand un maire de Lyon voulait implanter des marinas en bord de Saône. Heureusement des associations de riverains relayées par Malraux ont réussi à l’arrêter. Le site est maintenant classé patrimoine mondial et comme vous vous en rendrez compte durant votre visite draîne quantité de touristes et de visiteurs… dont vous, on vous le souhaite car c’est un quartier magnifique où l’on sent ce qu’était le Lyon des foires du Moyen-Âge.

La Façade coté quai est de style gothique. Il possède une cour avec deux portiques monumentaux dessinés par Soufflot. Construit par le cardinal Charles de Bourbon à la fin du XVe siècle, il fut modifié au cours des XVIIIe et XIXe siècles. Il héberge actuellement la bibliothèque du 5e arrondissement. En reprenant l'avenue Adolphe Max vers la colline et en passant par la place Edouard Commette, vous allez rejoindre la place Saint-Jean. Cross Bonaparte Bridge, on the left or right-hand side. Cathédrale Saint-Jean After the bridge, continue along Avenue Adolphe Max and turn right onto Place Saint-Jean. It is best to avoid rolling over this square as it has uneven cobblestones. Go to the pavement on Rue Jean Carriès, where you can admire the cathedral’s facade from a bit further away. You can enter the cathedral through the door on the right, using the two ramps placed on the ground. However, you will need to ask for help to push open the two heavy doors just after the ramps. Rue Saint-Jean After visiting the cathedral, continue down Rue Saint-Jean. Be careful, as this road has many cobblestones, which are very bumpy and can cause a lot of jolting. It is the responsibility of individuals to decide if they want or are able to do this part of the tour, according to their physical condition. We recommend rolling slowly here, with at least two wheels placed on the smooth strip in the middle of the road. Turning left onto Rue de la Bombarde, you can admire the very pretty courtyard of the Musée Cinéma et Miniature (Miniatures and Film Set Museum), which is located just a little further down Rue Saint-Jean.

We identified key actors of heritage from social media – a new approach to incorporate social media’s importance in sharing ideas in society – and surveyed them to determine their viewpoints and representations of Lyon’s heritage. We also surveyed key actors that we identified from associations and institutions. We analyzed hashtags related to heritage to compare with our survey data and identify other types of heritage. We found that social media is an innovative way to preserve and share heritage. We recommended LabEx continue to research social media and investigate how heritage evolves.
