MINNESOTA WILD NAMES JUDD BRACKETT DIRECTOR OF AMATEUR SCOUTING

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the (NHL) club has named Judd Brackett Director of Amateur Scouting.

“We are excited to add Judd to this role and oversee our amateur scouting efforts,” said Guerin.

Brackett, 43 (2/7/77), will oversee the Wild’s amateur scouting staff and be responsible for running the NHL Entry Draft for the organization. He joins Minnesota after spending the previous 12 seasons with the Vancouver Canucks. The native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, served as an Amateur Scout for the Canucks for seven seasons before he was named Director of Amateur Scouting on August 4, 2015.

Prior to joining Vancouver, he served as Head Scout and Vice President of Player Personnel for the Indiana Ice of the United States Hockey League (USHL), helping the Ice win two Clark Cups. Brackett began his scouting career in the Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Olympiques during the 2005-06 . His tenure with Gatineau included winning the President’s Cup in 2008.

The played one season at Northeastern University (1996-97) and three seasons at Connecticut College (1997-2000). He was selected to the Hockey East All-Academic Team in 1997 and was named a two-time recipient of the Duncan Dayton Award at Connecticut College. Brackett also played one season professionally for CG Puigcerda in the Liga Nacional League.

He and his wife, Lucie, have a daughter, Siena, and three sons, Pierce, Deacon and Rhett.
