For Immediate Release Contacts: Aaron Sickman (651) 602-6009 Thursday, July 9, 2020 Megan Kogut (651) 312-3439 Emily Yang (651) 602-6034 MINNESOTA WILD NAMES JUDD BRACKETT DIRECTOR OF AMATEUR SCOUTING SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has named Judd Brackett Director of Amateur Scouting. “We are excited to add Judd to this role and oversee our amateur scouting efforts,” said Guerin. Brackett, 43 (2/7/77), will oversee the Wild’s amateur scouting staff and be responsible for running the NHL Entry Draft for the organization. He joins Minnesota after spending the previous 12 seasons with the Vancouver Canucks. The native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, served as an Amateur Scout for the Canucks for seven seasons before he was named Director of Amateur Scouting on August 4, 2015. Prior to joining Vancouver, he served as Head Scout and Vice President of Player Personnel for the Indiana Ice of the United States Hockey League (USHL), helping the Ice win two Clark Cups. Brackett began his scouting career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Gatineau Olympiques during the 2005-06 season. His tenure with Gatineau included winning the President’s Cup in 2008. The goaltender played one season at Northeastern University (1996-97) and three seasons at Connecticut College (1997-2000). He was selected to the Hockey East All-Academic Team in 1997 and was named a two-time recipient of the Duncan Dayton Award at Connecticut College. Brackett also played one season professionally for CG Puigcerda in the Liga Nacional League. He and his wife, Lucie, have a daughter, Siena, and three sons, Pierce, Deacon and Rhett. Bourgeois will get to see a lot more of the Dieppe native beginning next season. Richard, a 20-year-old forward, has signed a letter of intent to play with the Aigles Bleus in the Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey conference starting in the 2017-18 campaign. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Richard played the past three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He’s completing his junior career with his hometown Dieppe Commandos in the Maritime Junior Hockey League this season. “We knew he would be a good local player who could play in the league. He’s a major junior kid with a lot of experience,”Bourgeois said yesterday. Richard leads the Commandos and is sixth in MHL scoring with 38 points in 27 games this season. His 20 goals rank him fourth in the league. “He’s a big player, he brings a lot of size. He’s not the meanest player out there, but he takes care of himself well,” Bourgeois said. “He’s got a real good shot. We think if we can put a couple players with him who can give him the puck, he can score some goals in our league.” A former scoring star with the Moncton Flyers major midget team, Richard suited up for the Saint John Sea Dogs, Gatineau Olympiques and Moncton Wildcats during his QMJHL career.

JOËL BOUCHARD Entraineur-chef, Rocket de Laval Head Coach, Laval Rocket Le 17 mai 2018, le Montréalais Joël Bouchard s’est joint à l’organisation des Canadiens de Montréal à titre d’entraîneur-chef du Rocket de Laval après avoir connu une prolifique carrière d’entraîneur et de dirigeant au hockey junior canadien. À la barre du club-école des Canadiens, Bouchard supervisera également le développement des meilleurs espoirs de l’organisation. Âgé de 45 ans, Joël Bouchard a passé sept saisons au sein de l’organisation de l’Armada de Blainville- Boisbriand, de la LHJMQ, occupant les fonctions de directeur général depuis la saison 2011-2012, en plus de cumuler celles d’entraîneur-chef au cours des quatre dernières campagnes. En 244 matchs comme pilote de la formation, il a conservé une fiche 145 gains et 99 revers (temps réglementaire et prolongation/fusillade). Avant de se joindre à l’Armada, Bouchard a occupé les fonctions d’entraîneur- adjoint, aux côtés de Dominique Ducharme, avec le Junior de Montréal de 2008 à 2011, avant que la concession ne soit relocalisée à Blainville-Boisbriand où elle allait être connue sous le nom d’Armada. Il a également œuvré comme directeur général de l’équipe nationale du Canada au Championnat mondial de hockey junior, remportant une médaille d’argent en 2017 et une autre d’or en 2018. It analyzes three development leagues that help contribute to the Major Junior Rosters; The Alberta Midget Hockey League (AMHL), The Greater Toronto Minor Midget Hockey League (GTMMHL), and The Quebec Midget AAA Hockey league (QMAAA). The three Major Junior leagues select players for their teams via a drafting process. When players hit a certain age, they become eligible to be drafted, and teams select the players they believe are the best available to come play for their team. The OHL and the QMJHL draft their players after their 15-year-old season and are eligible to play for their respective clubs in their upcoming 16-year-old season. The Western Hockey league drafts players after their 14-year-old season but players cannot play for their teams until their 16-year-old season as well.
