Leave Parkcliffe and turn left out of Birks Road to join the A592. Continue to roundabout and turn left on to the A590. Take first right to Cartmel village.

Arrive at Cartmel for a tour of the beautiful Priory Church (Tel: 015395 34026) or simply take a stroll around the picturesque winding streets of this most enchanting of villages, exploring the friendly shops.

Depart Cartmel for Holker Hall. Follow signs from Cartmel for Cark-in-Cartmel.

Arrive at Holker Hall and gardens (tel: 015395 58328). Time to explore this magnificent stately home and the beautiful award winning gardens.

Depart Holker Hall for Lakeland Miniature Village. Follow signs for and then and take a left turn after the Post Office.

Arrive at Lakeland Miniature Village (tel: 015395 58500). Cumbria’s only miniature village has over 120 buildings made from Coniston slate. These miniature buildings depict Cumbrian houses and farms including classics such as Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter. The model village has been growing over the last 10 years, but it will be a few years yet before it is completed.
