It is a ritualistic dance performed to appease or invoke the spirits of the sea and is always accompanied by a unique song also called Ulek Mayang. Composer: Rizal Tony A composition based on the tale of jealousy and rage. The myth tells of two sisters who were princesses of Kayangan, the celestial kingdom, and later became two mountains after being cursed. Composer/Author: Mohd Nasir bin Mohamed (M. Nasir) Arranger : Alwagera Bagaikan Sakti is the original soundtrack for Puteri Gunung Ledang sung by Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza and M. Nasir. It is a story of a forbidden romance between a Javanese Hindu Princess, Gusti Putri and Hang Tuah, a Malay Muslim warrior from Melacca. Fakulti UiTM Muzik SERIES Composer: Rizal Tony A composition as a tribute to Dollah Gambus, a Malaysian gambus music practitioner. Gambus is a Malay traditional musical Instrument inherited from the Islamic culture and traditionally played in Johor. Arranger : Sarah Alia Kopi Susu, one of the most popular tune sung by Saloma who was a singer and actress in the 1950s. Composer : Chew Kok Yee Author : Mukhlis Bin Mohamed Nor Arranger : Fadzrie Kahim Telaga is one of Zainal Abidin’s songs from the album Zainal Abidin which was produced in 1991. Zainal Abidin is known for his music that revolves around, love, humanity, and the environment. Composer : Farid Ali Arranger : Sarah Alia Zapin is known as one of the most popular dance and musical forms in Malays performing arts. In Zapin Blues, this song is an integration between traditional and jazz which was performed by the late Mr Gambus, Farid Ali. He was known as one of the finest jazz guitarists in the region who developed a concept of the Jazz Gambus. Fakulti UiTM Muzik SERIES Composer: Rizal Tony A composition that interprets the geometrical designs of the Malaysian Batik, using simple, repeated melodic but relying heavily onthe harmonic intensity, representing colour and smoothness to the fabric. Composer : Rizal Tony A composition based on the storyline of a good man who avenged for his loved one. Legend has it that Dang Anum was murdered by the Sultan for.stealing some jackfruit, for she had the cravings, as she was pregnant. Composer: Rizal Tony Al Akhirat is a term used in Islam to describe the belief in everlasting life after death. This composition represents hope and charity for our well-being and love for what we do in this world. “You will not attain righteousness till you spend in charity of the things you love.” The Qur’an, Chapter 3, verse 92. “And seek the (betterment of) the Ultimate Abode with what Allah has given to you, and do not neglect your share from this world, and do good as Allah did good to you, and do not seek to make mischief in the land. Menurut lagenda, sekumpulan nelayan telah dirempuh badai ketika berada di tengah laut. Salah seorang daripada nelayan telah dirasuk dan dibawa ke daratan. Bomoh dipanggil untuk memulihkan kembali semangat rakan dan mengembalikan roh jahat ke laut. Dengan nyanyian dan tarian tujuh puteri diiringi oleh 10 - 15 penari dan irama muzik tradisional, ianya berjaya memulihkan semangat rakannya. ISSN 1567-214x Keywords: Citizen's awareness; Traditional dances; Malay ABSTRACT The Malay is one of the Austronesian ethnic groups which has maintained its Austronesian heritage until now. Austronesian cultures between these regions have in common. Through the results of this study, it aims to describe the variant of traditional Malay dances in Malaysia, by increasing awareness in preserving culture, in accordance with the traditions and special local characteristics of the Malay state. Education for the younger generation of Malays teaches that cultural diversity must be recognized as a valuable treasure, and the culture of their country needs to be preserved. This is a qualitative ethnographic study, where ethnographic studies are usually about social communities, beliefs, religions, and traditions, including traditional dances. This research was conducted in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The research data were collected using field observations as one of the methods, then open and in-depth interviews were also conducted with direct interaction with the community concerned.

He was then taken ashore where a medium was called to revive the possessed fisherman and to entice the spirit to return to the sea.

The Malay ethnomathematics is the mathematics inherited from the Malay civilization that was taught, uttered, applied, and developed in the language and follows the Malay values. The definition of a graph is a set consisting of vertices connected to one another through the group of edges. In creating choreography in the Malay traditional dance, it must follow several general principles of choreography and almost all traditional Malay dance apply the concept of symmetrical balance that focuses on strength and harmony. The concept of symmetry is also applied to the whole dance pattern that begins and ends with the same floor patterns and movement.

Keperluan ini amat perlu untuk memastikan persembahan Mek Mulung terus kelangsungan dalam dunia hiburan moden. Persembahan Mek Mulung pada peringkat awal amat berkaitan dengan elemen tradisional. Perubahan masa, keperluan, teknologi dan permintaan dari luar telah memerlukan persembahan Mek Mulung melakukan perubahan sejajar dengan perubahan itu. Perubahan persembahan Mek Mulung merujuk pada struktur persembahan supaya perembahan itu dapat diteruskan dan releven dunia hiburan kini. Namun begitu, perubahan itu tidak menjejaskan keaslian persembahan Mek Mulung. Oleh itu, objektif kajian ini untuk mengenal pasti perubahan pada struktur persembahan Mek Mulung. Proses penyelidikan ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang menggunakan kajian lapangan dan perpustakaan. Penyelidikan kajian lapangan telah dijalankan di Kampung Wang Tepus, Kedah dari tahun 2009 hingga tahun 2019. Kajian lapangan ini mengaplikasi kaedah pemerhatian, ikut serta dan temubual. Begitu juga, kajian 100 Mohd Yuszaidy Mohd Yusoff & Zamzuriah Zahari, “Persembahan Tradisional Mek Mulung di Malaysia: Perubahan Struktur Persembahan” JMS Vol. 3 Issue 1 (2020):100 - 121 permerhatian dan ikut serta ini dilakukan ke atas individu yang berautoriti dalam persembahan Mek Mulung.
