In operation for over 100 years, this engineering marvel dictated development patterns in upper Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. The interior station designs of the different lines chronicle the changing architectural fashion of the aboveground world from the turn of the century through the 1940s. Many prominent architects have designed the stations over the years, including the earliest stations by Heins and LaFarge. However, the conversation about preservation surrounding the historic resource has only begun in earnest in the past twenty years. It is the system’s very heritage that creates its preservation controversies. After World War II, the rapid transit system suffered from several decades of neglect and deferred maintenance as ridership fell and violent crime rose. At the height of the subway’s degradation in 1979, the decision to celebrate the seventy-fifth anniversary of the opening of the subway with a local landmark designation was unusual. -

The Revenue Manager has the lead responsibility for the on-board revenue funds used in support of the program. The on-board Revenue Manager will also assist the Director to work with staff auditors and external revenue control specialists to develop schedules to fulfill the requirements of the program, reconciles the funds used to purchase tickets for scheduled rides, and consolidate findings each month regarding the results of the on-board program for reporting purposes. Performs work in a professional manner, maintains and expands a professional work relationship with clients, and demonstrates a strong understanding of the revenue collection operations across the agencies. Directly supervises and guides assigned audit staff as needed to support the on-board Audit Director. Boclair Academy School Handbook 2019-2020 January 2019 Dear Parent Welcome to the Boclair Academy handbook for session 2019-2020. Boclair Academy is a six-year comprehensive which serves its catchment area of South Bearsden and the village of Torrance (full details of the delineated catchment area can be accessed from Education Services, Southbank House, 1 Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch). The totality of life in a large secondary school cannot be captured in a book such as this, but it does contain much information which I hope you will find useful. We offer pupils a wide range of educational experiences at Boclair, from the traditional range of subjects to the extensive programme of extra-curricular activities, school trips and visits. We hope that by offering these formal and informal learning experiences all of our pupils will have opportunities to maximise their potential, whatever their aptitudes, interests or aspirations. Session 2010-2011 saw the first steps in the formal introduction of Curriculum for Excellence, and staff have been engaged in ensuring the best possible educational experience is available for new pupils over the last seven years. Every school requires to produce an annual Improvement Plan. For Session 2018-2019 the focus is on improving the experience for all learners both in terms of attainment and achievement. Over the past 5-6 years, we have seen a steady improvement in the examination performance of our pupils, and over the past three sessions we have seen some of the best SQA results in the school’s history. Staff and pupils will be striving to maintain the high standards which have been set. -

MEETING SYNOPSIS OF THE MARCH 18, 2010 NEW YORK METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COUNCIL A. CALL TO ORDER AND INTRODUCTIONS The meeting was called to order by Mr. Robert Zerrillo of the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) and Secretary of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council. The members of the Council introduced themselves. It was declared that there was a quorum. Acting Commissioner Stan Gee of New York State Department of Transportation chaired the meeting. B. OPENING SESSION NYMTC’s Permanent Council Co-Chair, Acting Commissioner Stan Gee Acting Commissioner Stan Gee welcomed all attendees to the meeting. He noted that the Council had new members—Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino, MTA Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Jay Walder, New Jersey Transit’s Executive Director James Weinstein, and USEPA’s Regional Administrator Judith Enck. He welcomed them all and asked for their agency’s continued support. Acting Commissioner Gee welcomed special guest, Adolfo Carrion, the Director of the White House Office of Urban Affairs, and thanked him for joining the meeting to talk about the Federal initiatives that would influence the work in the NYMTC region. He announced the theme for the meeting—“Transportation and a Livable Region,” and said there would be lively exchanges of ideas and information from Mr. Carrion and the Council members. NYMTC’s Co-Chair, Amanda Burden, Director, NYC Department of City Planning Director Amanda Burden of the New York City Department of City Planning welcomed the new Council members to the meeting and said she looked forward to working together with them. -
