4. Phase 1A update – see attached presentation  Effectively complete. Now moved into the maintenance phase – CCT West of Stroud; SDC East

5. Cotswold Canals Connected (Phase 1B) – see attached presentation  £23.4 million project; Development Stage £2.2 million  Volunteer target (£444,000 equivalent) already reached  Delivery Stage bid will be made between November and February; timing is dependent on outcome of ‘Mid Term’ Review in October  4,000 people reached through community consultations, target group engagement and wide community engagement activities. Councillors are invited to communicate any pressing issues for their community not addressed in the 5 Strategies to date (see slides)

6. Phase 2  Weymoor Bridge, Latton – substantially complete  Lock – substantially complete. Thursday evening team clearing channel above

7. Water Transfer  Thames Water preference for a Deerhurst pipeline taking water further downstream  Likely to become a political issue. Cotswold Canals scheme unique in terms of biodiversity and leisure  Water Resource Management Plan (WRMP) 2024 the next target for inclusion of the Cotswold Canals scheme

8. Any other Business  Reopening Bristol Road Station in Stonehouse would complement the canal benefits in terms of economic regeneration, sustainable tourist and visitor opportunities and transport links to and from Bristol.  Concerns in Frampton over car parking. No problem with visitors themselves  Project is one of four given Lottery Development Funding.  Ecotricity stadium decision does put the project at risk  Scout group available for survey work (Karen H)  Role of local councils – support, local group/contacts, future sustainability  Stroud Valleys Canal Company – now 10 years old. Needs to work with communities to keep the canal sustainable and provide associated facilities.

9. Next Meeting After a break-out discussion, it was agreed that future meetings should be held at 6pm on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th Wednesday of the month. The next will therefore take place on Wednesday, 13th November, 6pm in the Council Chamber at Ebley Mill.
