As of November, the market share for Korean films in the domestic market stood at 55 percent, which indicates that the yearly market share of Korean films will be over 50 percent for the third year in a row. In the international arena as well, Korean films were invited to major international film festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno, and San Sebastian and received a warm reception from critics and audiences. It is often said that the current prosperity of Korean cinema is due to the strong commitment and policies introduced by the KIM Dae-joong government in 1999 to promote Korean films.

Lest anyone has forgotten that lightning bolt of two years ago, I've assembled the text and photos from several news sources (see links below) on the 2005 NCAA men's lacrosse Division III Championship Game, played on a beautiful spring day at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, just to prove that lightning can and did strike twice. With the score knotted at 10, our nephew (Jo Anne's sister's son) CHRIS PHILLIPS, a Salisbury University junior attackman, again fired the championship-winning goal, his second goal of the day, this time with only five seconds left in the game. This was Salisbury's third consecutive national championship and their 49th consecutive win, an all-division record. Chris was recently named a Division III first-team All-American. NCME 2021 Annual Meeting Pre-conference Sessions: May 18 – June 3 Training Sessions: June 4 – June 8 Conference Week: June 9-11 NCME 2021 Conference Program page 1 Welcome from the Program Chairs Welcome to the 2021 NCME Annual Meeting! The past year has been challenging for everyone. We have learned to be flexible and adapt to the ever-changing circumstances that have occurred on a monthly, weekly, and sometimes daily basis. This experience was no different when it came to the planning of this year’s meeting and program. Most of us have grown accustomed to the virtual meeting format – raise your hand if you had not been in a Zoom breakout room, played with virtual backgrounds, or used video filters (“I’m not a cat!”) before last year! While we acknowledge that virtual interactions cannot replace the authentic experience of face-to-face conversations and discussions, we have structured the program to take advantage of the benefits and conveniences of the virtual format. For example, we are offering several pre-conference sessions highlighting some amazing content. The pre-conference sessions begin during the week of May 18, every Tuesday and Thursday, leading up to the week of the conference, June 8 to 11. This year’s conference theme is “Bridging Research and Practice”. Research is the foundation of our field and continues to shape and advance our industry. Practice is where we can reach millions of people, and where critical decisions, such as certification, admissions, and placements, are made. Our goal is to encourage and foster a stronger bond between research and practice.

0 The Villanova University Band Presents... THE HAS BINN Spring 2017 Edition THANK YOU SENIORS! A Farewell to the Class of 2017 and the 2016-17 Band Season POETRY CORNER - Where in the world is Binncat? - General Band Shenanigans Senior Features - Senior Reflections STAY TUNED FOR A SPECIAL EDITION ON APRIL 30! SPRING 2017 1 A Letter From Your Editors Dear VU Band, Hello from your new Editors! We thought we’d take a moment before this VERY LONG EDITION of the Has Binn to introduce ourselves, briefly. I’m Marianne Donley, a junior in the best section in the band: the saxophones. I’m their section leader/dictator, a pep band director, and a Publicity Committee Chairperson. I clearly enjoy having no free time because I’m double majoring in English and Chemistry. I’m from Pittsburgh, Aka “the better side of PA.” Let’s Go Pens, amirite? Nice to meet you, Marianne! I’m Mike Bigley, a sophomore in the better best section of the band, the trumpets. I’m a Math and Econ major with a minor in Stats so in case you haven’t realized by now, I am a total nerd. And like many Villanovans, I hail from the great state of New Jersey. Great to meet you both! I’m Elizabeth Hagopian, a sophomore in the greatest section of all, the clarinets! In my spare time from the Has Binn, I’m a Nursing major from the best state of Fall Tour New England: Massachusetts. But enough about all of us... In this edition of the Has Binn you will find many of the band’s literary attempts...I mean achievements.
