JAN 2021 Connect-Fnl.indd 1 12/1/20 10:52 AM Welcome

Dear Member, Happy New Year! As we continue to experience the pandemic in our communities, we hope and trust that 2021 will bring health, normalcy and new opportunities to you and your families. As we look back at 2020 and the adversity the pandemic created, we are reminded that it also created opportunities for us to rise to the occasion. It taught us to embrace technology, think outside the box to fresh content and do more to serve our educators and students. ThinkTV and CET are grateful for the strong community support we received in 2020. Your support allows us to produce local arts and culture programs while pursuing educational initiatives that better serve our communities. We couldn’t do our work without you, so thank you. Of course the great work doesn’t stop. As I write, we are working on a documentary about Ohio women during the Suffrage movement; we are working on the second part of The Dayton Arcade: Waking the Giant; we continue to work with our art and performance partners to help provide a stage for their works; we continue our work on our weekly arts and cultural shows and we will begin working on projects around diversity, racism and inclusion. In education, our work continues to create content that teachers and parents can use in the classroom and at home. We have tripled our professional development workshops for our teachers and look forward to being a resource to help guide them through remote teaching in whatever form that takes. CET and ThinkTV are proud to be much more than just great public television stations. And we’re also proud of the great programming coming your way this year. This month kicks off multiple new shows from MASTERPIECE including a reboot of the classic All Creatures Great and Small, a late-in-life mystery called Elizabeth is Missing and Miss Scarlet and the Duke. We will also be featuring the stories of America told through , POV, NOVA, PBS American Portrait and more. We are especially excited to be airing a two-hour NOVA special on Percy Julian, the African-American scientist, industrialist, humanitarian, civil rights pioneer and self-made millionaire, called Forgotten Genius. There are many great shows and programs to explore on-air and online as we kick of 2021, all possible thanks to your support.
