Stort tack till de båda bidragarna ODD och JE! Red har i stort sett inte lyssnat alls efter den 18.11, utan i stället lyssnat igenom en del av inspelningarna från perioden 9-12.11. För eventuellt kommande konds-perioder har även en SDR-IQ införskaffats … , än så länge har mesta tiden ägnats åt att försöka lära mig använda Spectra Vue programmet. Den 30.11 fick jag äntligen möjlighet att skarva ihop ÖK-antennen till full längd; det hade då frusit såpass att myren, där trådbrottet fanns, kunde be- trädas utan att riskera ofrivilliga bad. Delar av tråden kunde hackas fram ur isen med yxa, men ca 100m ny tråd fick ändå dras ut. Hål för en 7-8 nya stöttor höggs upp med yxa och dessa kördes sedan ned i mossan, därefter hängdes tråden upp. Blev snyggt och prydligt. Resterande del av antennen isn- pekterades sedan visuellt; på vissa ställen hängde tråden lågt, delvis på grund av ett par tums snö/is beklädnad, vilket slogs bort så gott det gick. Men tråden var i alla fall hel ända till slutet, en senare mätning visade att även slutmotståndet till jordspettet var intak! Nöjd med denna framgång togs nästa uppgift an; att attackera tidigare nämnda ”till-och-från” problem med koaxmatningen; flera gånger har jag trott att felet hittats, för att efter några dagar igen upptäcka att så inte varit fallet. Nu byttes balunen ut ännu en gång samt att två BNC-skarvdon och ett par d:o-kontakter byttes. Och, peppar peppar, än så länge hörs det lovande ut! 780 9.11 0702 KNOM Nome AK id efter nyheter. LAB 960 9.11 0900 KMA Shenandoah IA visade sig vara ESPN nummer två på frekvensen (som miss- tänktes i Dis 14-07, CFAC den andra förstås). Ett lokalt fönster startade ca 0857; CFAC hade då en spot för ”Calgary’s news radiostation – 6-60 News” (CFFR- 660 alltså! – båda ägs av Rogers Communications). Vid heltimmen uppfattades ett ”…our website kma960.com” sekunden före CFAC:s ID-ramsa, och sedan hörs delar av TOH-ID, ”This is …… KMA, Shenandoah”, i mun på CFAC. Därefter hade KMA ABC-nx, medan CFAC fortsatte med ESPN direkt. Det var en dryg se- kunds fördröjning av ESPN-ljudet mellan stationerna. Många år sedan KMA se- nast hördes hos mig. LAB 9.11 0934 WTCH Shawano WI med ett svagt men klart ”WTCH AM 9-60” när ESPN:arna hade en svacka. Ny bekantskap i Tomterna, men kanske inte helt oväntad. Strax efteråt kom en station upp för en kort stund och annonserade ”This is CNN Radio”, borde varken vara WTCH (CBS) eller KMA (ABC). LAB 970 4.12 0100 WZAN Portland ME ”9-70 WZAN Portland”. Vanliga ”Sol”-annonseringar, på timmen 0600: ”Sol 13-60, …. Música Mexicana”. Hörd vid flera andra tillfällen också. Aningen hög i frekvens verkar det som, men har ej kalibrerat min IQ exakt ännu.     Wednesday 11 April 2007 ABC LOCAL RADIO AWARDS FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR 2007 Finalists for the 2007 ABC Local Radio Awards were announced today. Established in 2001, the Awards recognise and celebrate the talented and dedicated ABC Local Radio staff who deliver entertaining radio to local communities around Australia. Open to all broadcasters and producers from nine metropolitan and 51 regional ABC Local Radio stations across the country, the categories recognise individual and station excellence and include metropolitan and regional broadcaster and station of the year, sports and rural broadcasting and website production, as well as coverage of significant local community events and outside broadcasts. A full list of categories and finalists is attached. The Director of ABC Radio & Regional Content, Sue Howard, who is on the Awards judging panel, said she was impressed with both the experienced nominees as well as the performance of finalists who were nominated this year for the first time. “There are a number of new names and faces in contention for the Awards this year, and that is a reflection of the calibre of new talent emerging across the Local Radio network.” “My congratulations go to all finalists and I wish them every success,” Ms Howard said.     EECERA Research Award Application 2017 Practitioner Research – Group Linda Newman, Nicole Leggett, Melissa Duffy-Fagan, Kate Higginbottom, Kylie Kirrage & Catherine Highton. Application Abstract Research Connections: Practitioner Research Engagement Network for Early Childhood Educators was a highly successful project. Participants improved the quality of their practice through engaging in long-term professional learning to plan and implement action research projects. The research visibility has promoted the status of early childhood practitioners nationally and internationally. Two Australian academics and four early childhood teams took part. They propose, as an outcome, that their evidence-based practitioner research model can inform governments & non-governmental organisations. They advocate their model of professional learning for quality improvement in early childhood services to build knowledge and professional learning, and create sustainable change. The research demonstrated early childhood teacher agency, advocacy and self-determination by showing how issues deemed important for children’s rights, families, communities and educators were identified, researched and reported. The research will be presented in an EECERA symposium in 2017 that shows how practitioner research and socioculturally informed collaboration approaches not only empower and engage teachers in research, but can meet professional learning accountability requirements. Ostensibly, this bill is to facilitate the provision of broadcasting services by the ABC that meet and reflect the needs of rural and regional Australia and ensure that rural and regional communities are provided for in the functions of the corporation and through representation on the ABC board. In reality, this bill is nothing but window-dressing and will achieve nothing to improve rural and regional service provision. In fact, this bill is quite insulting to the rural and regional communities who've already lost so much through funding cuts by this government to their much loved and much needed ABC. This bill will achieve nothing, because what the ABC needs is funding—not legislative change that introduces more bureaucracy, but funding. The ABC needs funding not just to meet the needs of growing populations in regional and rural areas but because these areas have been targeted by funding cuts. Those on the other side don't like to be reminded of the fact that since 2013 the Liberals have cut a staggering $366 million from the ABC, completely in breach of an election promise.
