From the fl ag-raising ceremony in Watrous (above) to a street fair and entertainment at Manitou Beach, the day was met with smiles and laughter. Terrible Tuesdays? Tuesday seemed to be a day for storms for Watrous over the past two weeks. The fi rst came June 26. Then July 3, heavy rains mixed with pea-sized hail and even a confi rmed twister southwest of town caused damage to the area. Bins lay toppled over, farmyards damaged, a portion of 3rd Ave. E. (left) turned into a lake, and a prolonged power outage was caused by a toppled line.
