High School League Rules Teams and Players

1. League will play 5 on 5. 2. All players must where approved Boys & Girls Club jerseys. 3. All players must check in with scorers table before the game. 4. Rosters can only be changed by the Athletic Director. 5. Players are not allowed to play on multiple teams. 6. All players will need to be rotated in and out of games in a way that allows for equal playing time for all. 7. All players should “start” during the course of the season 8. Size of the ball will be 29.5” – club will provide game ball but not required to play with during the games, teams can choose the ball to use. 9. Any rules not listed will follow normal OSAA guidelines. (may be modified for divisions) Defense

1. Any type of defense will be allowed – Man or Zone 2. Full court press will be allowed. *No back court defense with a 15pt or more lead. Substitutions

1. Regular subsitutions will take place during dead balls. Rules of Emphasis

1. Travelling 2. 3. Illegal Screens 4. Hand Checking/Arm Bars 5. No inappropriate language such as swearing will be tolerated. No swearing or cursing. 6. Taunting will NOT be tolerated and will result in a technical . Scoring

1. Baskets will count for 2 points or 3 points 2. Free Throws count as 1

Free Throws

1. Each counts as 1 point 2. Teams will be rewarded free throws on shooting fouls based on the location the player was fouled. Two shot foul inside the perimeter and three shot outside the perimeter 3. Teams will be rewarded at 7 team fouls, 1-and-1 situation. 4. Teams will be rewarded double-bonus at 10 team fouls. Personal FoulsTechnical, Intentional and Flagrant Fouls/Ejections

1. Players receiving five fouls in one game will be disaqualified from the game. 2. Any player receiving a will be ejected from the remainder of the game. a. Name of player will be recorded and turned into the Athletic Director. 3. All Technical, Flagrant, and Intentional Fouls will count as personal and team fouls. a. Result of these fouls will be 2 shots and the ball. 4. upon fouls called Intentionally or Flagrant will be based upon the judgement of the officials. a. Intentional Foul – Any foul by a player makes excessive contact without making a play on the ball. *Result of foul may be ejection. b. – Any foul by a player making excessive contact in a fashion to hurt or injure another player. *Result of foul will be ejection. 5. Coaches receiving a technical foul will be asked to leave the gym and be suspended for the next game. *Any coach receiving two technical fouls throughout the course of the season will be terminated as a volunteer. 6. All foul calls are judgement calls of the officials/athletic staff and will not be questioned. Coaches

1. Coaches must stay inside the designated “Coaches Box”. Leaving the box may result in technical foul or ejection. Time Factors

1. 10 quarters, running clock. 2. Halftime is 5 minutes 3. Warm up time will be a minimum of 5 minutes 4. games will be 3 minutes running clock, NO TIMEOUTS. Games will end in “Tie” if there is no winner after overtime. 5. Clock will stop in the last two minutes if the game is within 10 points 6. Clock stops on Timeouts only. Time Outs

1. Each team is allowed 3 timeouts per game. 2-Full and 1-30 second.

Officiating/Score Keeping

1. Head officials will be provided by the Boys & Girls Club. 2. Teams may be asked to provide score keeper/clock operator volunteers. 3. Any arguing with officials, use of profanity, or abusive behavior toward the other team, coach(es), or spectator(s) will result in a one game suspension of the player(s), coach(es) involved. *Further action may be taken by Athletic Director. 4. Officials are not to be approached in an aggressive manner or physically contacted by players, coaches, volunteers, or spectators. *Results of this action will be at the discretion of the Athletic Director.
