19 June 2014 Maserati Centennial Exhibition Inaugurated in Modena
Date: 19 June 2014 Maserati Centennial Exhibition Inaugurated In Modena New exhibition retraces a century of Maserati at the spectacular Enzo Ferrari Museum (MEF). The unique exhibition hosts a priceless collection of historic models and gives visitors the opportunity to relive the history of Maserati through technology that transports you to the heart of the event. A unique exhibition dedicated to the Centennial of Maserati was inaugurated in Modena this morning. MASERATI 100 - A Century of Pure Italian Luxury Sports Cars retraces the story of the Italian car manufacturer through an exhibition featuring some of the Trident marque’s most significant road and racing cars, plus a highly engaging show employing 19 projectors, enabling visitors to relive the most significant moments in the history of Maserati and to learn about the individuals who shaped its history. Staged in the futuristic Enzo Ferrari Museum, a stone's throw from the Maserati headquarters in Viale Ciro Menotti, the exhibition will run until January 2015. Considering the historic value of the models exhibited, this is the greatest exhibition of Maserati cars ever staged anywhere in the world. The inauguration of the new exhibition was attended by the CEO of Maserati, Harald Wester, and the Chairman of Ferrari, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. They were joined by the cousins Carlo and Alfieri Maserati, sons, respectively, of Ettore and Ernesto Maserati, the two brothers who in 1914, together with Alfieri Maserati, founded the company that still bears their name today. The guest of honour at the inauguration was the legendary Sir Stirling Moss, the 1950s Maserati racing driver who scooped incredible victories for the Trident marque. -

Date: 29 July 2014 Maserati Centennial Exhibition Open Throughout
Date: 29 July 2014 Maserati centennial exhibition open throughout the summer A unique exhibition in terms of the quality of the models on show, like the only remaining V4 16 cylinder and the A6 1500 of 1947, Maserati’s first road-going car. It’s held at the MEF, the Museo Enzo Ferrari, which “looks at” the Maserati headquarters in Viale Ciro Menotti, Modena and which also exhibits extraordinary Ferraris and Alfa Romeos. A month on from the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the Maserati centennial, MASERATI 100 - A Century of Pure Italian Luxury Sports Cars , the initial response from the public has been highly positive, with nearly 20,000 visitors. The celebration of a century of history for a car manufacturer allows the public to relive the story of an epoch and thrill, as they observe the course of events and unfolding of technological progress both through the cars on display and a film that stirs the passion of visitors with no fewer than 19 different projectors. Through anecdotes, curiosities, stories of exceptional men, rare and prestigious vehicles, also due to their current financial value. Visitors have the opportunity – unique, rather than rare – to admire the only Maserati Tipo V4 Sport 16 cylinderstill remaining in the world. In 1929 Alfieri Maserati twinned two 2-litre engines from the Tipo 26 in a single crankcase, with the two crankshafts linked by gears. On 28th September of the same year in Cremona, Baconin Borzacchini set the World Record for the Flying 10 Kilometres with the Tipo V4, at an average speed of 246.069 km/h. -

The 2018 Mille Miglia Is a Triumph for Alfa Romeo
Contact: Berj Alexanian The 2018 Mille Miglia is a triumph for Alfa Romeo A wonderful day for Alfa Romeo: the Mille Miglia concludes with its cars in the top three places The race caravan paid a celebratory visit to Milan and to the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo at Arese, where time trials were held on the internal circuit Marcus Ericsson and Charles Leclerc, the drivers of the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team, were also present, driving a 1932 Gran Premio Tipo B and a 1955 750 Competizione The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team drivers later greeted the cars on arrival in Brescia The interweaving of past and future continues on the web thanks to the “ Alfa Romeo: the Mille Miglia in 90 places” project, which retraces the most significant stages in the brand's history at the Mille Miglia, 90 years after its first victory May 20, 2018, Brescia, Italy - 1928 was the year of Alfa Romeo's first win at the Mille Miglia, and 2018 has seen a record-breaking edition with 450 teams competing and three Alfa Romeo cars taking the top three places: confirmation of the brand's unbreakable bond with "the most beautiful race in the world." Alfa Romeo therefore starred at the event as protagonist in this prestigious milestone, as Automotive Sponsor, and as the winner of the top prizes on Viale Venezia in Brescia: the 2018 Mille Miglia was won by the Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 GS Testa Fissa crewed by Tonconogy-Ruffini. In second place, just eight penalty points behind the victor, the stunning 6C 1500 Super Sport dating from 1928 with coachwork by Stabilimenti Farina, an official car from the FCA Heritage collection, which is normally on display at the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo. -
Newsletter the 2.5 24 Valve Engine Received
P.O. Box 804, Bellville 7535 http://www.alfaclub.co.za [email protected] Newsletter May 9 Monthly Busso evening: Busso the man that created the iconic Alfa Romeo V6 engine, born Giuseppe Busso 27 April 1913 and passed away 3 January 2006 just 3 days after production was stopped of his beloved V6 engine. He was Technical Director for Alfa Romeo and Ferrari. Some of his projects included 1900, Matta, Giulietta, Giulia, Alfetta and the Alfa Romeo Twin Cam engine. The first Alfa Romeo to receive the fantastic V6 engine was the 6 Sedan. Thanks Rod for bringing your stunning example to the meeting. Also thanks to Alastair for bringing your concours winning 156 GTA another Busso master piece. Unfortunately no photos were taken on the evening. The 2.5 24 valve engine received the coveted International Engine of the year award in 2000. In August 2011 Evo magazine rated the Alfa V6 engine as the most glorious sounding six cylinder engine ever. Classic and Sports car magazine said it is the best sounding engine this side of the Maserati V8. May 6 Busso run to Damas restaurant Worcester: We all got together at the Clubhouse and left in convoy at around 10:30 and travelled over the du Toit's Kloof pass. En-route to Damas Restaurant we stopped to pick up our Guest of Honour, Ms. Dreyer. The short version of the story is that when our beloved Chairman, Stephen Wearne, was in Grade 2 (Sub. B) his teacher (and our Guest of Honour), Ms. Dreyer was driving an Alfasud. -
Iniezione the Newsletter of the Northwest Alfa Romeo Club
Iniezione The newsletter of the Northwest Alfa Romeo Club Magical Montreal ALFA expo17 - Part 1 Great cars, company and convention activities at the National Convention Montreal's ALFA expo17 was a fun and successful (inter-) national convention enjoyed by more than 430 Alfisti. Several NWARC members made the trip north of the border, and sent back the following reports on their activities. There was so much going on, and so much fun being had, that this report will be published in two parts. Watch for the conclusion in September! Pre-convention Voyager Tour Participants for the three-day pre-convention driving tours of the Ottawa River area met at the historic town of Kingston on the north shore of Lake Ontario. Joe and Lynn Faherty, Gordy Hyde and Dolly Samson, and Bill and Judy Gehring joined the tour, which explored the Quebec side of the river with highlights including waterfalls, canals, hand-operated locks, covered bridges, quaint villages and parks. Because there were 37 drivers doing the tour, we were put in groups of about 6 cars each. Our group was especially inter- esting, as it was led by Oliver Collins in his 1900 Touring and included a 1959 2 liter spider, a Callaway twin turbo GTV6 and a 2017 Giulia. Oth- er groups included Pre-Tour Alfas - Judy Gehring more new Giulias, a couple of 4C's, a Montreal, some Canadian spiders of the 90's that weren't available to us, and lots of "common” Alfas. Doug Zaitz and AROC president Cindy Banzer joined an equally inter- esting tour of the Ontario side of the river.
