This grant program, funded in 2009 by an Anonymous Donor and City of Calgary Parks, is also a partnership with United Way of Calgary and Area, corporations and com- munity associations. It is an overwhelming suc- cess. Funding from the Government of Canada through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada Program will lead to an additional 15 playgrounds scheduled for 2010 completion. The project began in 2002 with Phase I; the restoration of the interior of Haultain School (now home to Parks Foundation Calgary’s o ce). 2009 saw the completion of phase III of the project; Haultain Park. This milestone achievement was due in large part to the generous contribution of Calgarian J.C. Anderson. The park features a fully accessible playground made possi- ble through donations from the Marigold Foundation and Newalta.
