MAJ CHRISTAN B. WHITE

Christan B. White is the Operations Officer for Air Force Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 790, Tennessee State University, Nashville, Tenn. She supervises all unit operations, recruiting, and training functions for over sixty prospective officer candidates. She is responsible for coordinating all detachment activities for cadre, delivers instruction on foundational leadership curricula to cadets, and acts on the behalf of the Det Commander in their absence. The major finds the most satisfying part of her duties is having the opportunity to mold the minds of America’s next generation of Air Force officers, while watching them grow as leaders on their journey to commissioning from AFROTC.

Maj White was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, where she also earned her undergraduate degree and commissioning through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in May 2010. She completed Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Initial Skills Training at Vandenberg AFB, Calif., before being stationed at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo. Prior to her current position, she went back to Vandenberg AFB as an instructor where she was responsible for the creation, management, and delivery of combat crew initial skills training for the Minuteman III ICBM. Maj White administered classroom and simulator training, producing qualified missile combat crew members, ready to meet the demands of the nation’s premiere nuclear mission. With 227 alerts as an operator and weapon system expert of the LGM030G Minuteman III ICBM, she served as a vital member/innovator of the instructor team throughout major technological and curriculum changes to the (AFSC) awarding technical school for the 13N career field.
