For the reason that farming land was being degraded by errossion, the potato productivity apparently continued to decline. Potato farming sustainability can be deliberated from economic (profitability) and environmental (conservation efforts) points of view in order to remain profitable in a long term sustainable environment. This study is aimed to (1) to analyse the profitability of potato farming; (2) to analyse farmers’ effort on soil conservation and factors which affected sustainability of potato farming. The method used in this study was basic descriptive analysis. The study site was in Kejajar District, Wonosobo Regency, subsequently 50 random farmers as respondences was obtained. Gross Margin, Return on Invested Capital, and Operating Ratio were used to measure the profitability of potato farming. Conservation Activity Index (CAI) was used to measure farmers’ effort on soil conservation, while paired liner regression model with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method was used to understand the factors which affected the conservation efforts of test sites. The study results revealed that the potato farming was profitable. Farmers conservation efforts mostly was in average category (74%), and only view in high category (16%) and low category (10%). Factors affected the farmers conservation efforts i.e. land area, potato products, potato price, the off-farm income, number of family members, farmers ages, and village dummy. Potato ( Solanum tuberosum L.) is a horticultural In various countries including Indonesia, there commodity and also consumed by almost the whole are many serious problems that threatened the population of the world. It is potentially grown and sustainability of crop production. One of the serious developed in Indonesia because the country has problems is the occurrence of land degradation due sufficient agroclimatic condition (Novary, 1997 cit. to the effects of crop productivity, environmental Sukayana et al. , 2013; Ghadimi et al. , 2014). Based quality, and subsequently affects food security. It is on Statistic Indonesia (2013), Central Java produces estimated up to 40% of the agricultural land existed the highest production of potato (273.513 ton) and in the world today has suffered from land degradation. Wonosobo is the central of its production. It has Land degradation is defined as the reduction of stable price with a good business prospect, suitable land capacity because it has explorated over its own to be run in many levels of business capitals, the ecologycal capacity. Land degradation inhibits plant market was assured and certain, and has a long shelf growth (Khormali, 2009). Sutami 36 A Kentingan, Surakarta, Indonesia Keywords: Spatial Regression Model, Heterogeneity in Error, Ensemble Technique, R2, RMSE. Abstract: Spatial regression model is a regression model that is formed because of the relationship between independent variables with dependent variable with spasial effect. This is due to a strong relationship of observation in a location with other adjacent locations. One of assumptions in spatial regression model is homogeneous of error variance, but we often find the diversity of data in several different locations. This causes the assumption is not met. One such case is the poverty case data in Central Java Province. The objective of this research is to get the best model from this data with the heterogeneity in error. Ensemble technique is done by simulating noises (m) from normal distribution with mean nol and a standard deviation σ of the spasial model error taken and adding noise to the dependent variable. The technique is done by comparing the queen weighted and the cross-correlation normalization weighted in forming the model. Furthermore, with these two weights, the results will be compared using R2 and RMSE on the poverty case data in province of Central Java. Both of weights are calculated to determine the significant factors that give influence on poverty and to choose the best model.

Budi Prasetyo dan Arif Sofianto Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Provinsi Jawa Tengah email: [email protected] ABSTRACT One of the main critical issues in a decentralized development today is the failure of family planning programs that are affected by its institutional forms. This study aims to develop a formula institutional revitalization of family planning program managers are required at this time. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative models using Spradley’s analytical techniques. This research was conducted in Pekalongan Municipal, Wonosobo Regency, and Purworejo Regency. The conclusion of this study is that the deterioration of family planning programs in the area due to lack of commitment from local leaders, organizations do not focus in carrying out its functions, especially the field staff (field officers), lack of resources and synergies in the implementation of the program. Chief policy areas are very influential in determining the shape of the organization, resource allocation and implementation of synergies. Institutional revitalization needs to be done by the local government is established agencies that focus on population and family planning affairs so that the implementation in the field (field officers) are more focused on family planning matters, but on the other hand still have to pay attention to the ability of the region and some other matters. In addition to the organization in the form of focus, also need to be supported adequacy of resource allocation and increased synergy among sectors fostered by regional heads.

Rice is one of staple food in Central Java province because rice is the main carbohydrate and calorie source for society in general. From year to year rice production in various regions in Indonesia shows a significant increase. Central Java is one of the provinces in Indonesia which has the agricultural sector as its main sector. However, in the last five years, the average rice production in Central Java showed a stagnant decline in value. This study was aimed to model the spatial effects on rice productivity in the cities in Central Java along with the factors that influence it. The method used is spatial modeling approach. The results of the analysis show that spatial lag X (SLX) model has the smallest AIC value, estimation result shows that rice production and harvest area have significant effect on rice productivity in Central Java.

The regional structure in this area is originated from the major caldera with local fault having orientation of SE - NW. Surface manifestations found in the researched area are hot springs located in Bitingan, Sileri, Siglagah, Pulosari, Kaliputih, and Sikidang. Fumaroles occur in Candradimuka and Pagerkandang and mud pools are located in Sileri and Sikidang craters. Temperatures of the hot springs ranges from 43o to 61o C, pH of 6 - 7, and their conductivity are of 38-78 MeV. The type of hotwater is a mixture of bicarbonate, sulfate, and chloride sulfate deriving from condensation of steam. Based on a relative composition of Cl-Li-B, the hot water is originated from four different reservoirs with different rock associations, while their reservoir temperatures vary from 225o to 300o C. It aims to explore sustainable of agro-supply chain. Survey data are collected from Magelang Regency, Central Java Province, where the main source and high producers of export green beans. There are three major farming groups (Merapi Asri, Melati Sari, and Ngudi Roso), which are 100 selected farmers. The used criteria for evaluation is Net Present Value (NPV) and Benefit per Cost (B/C) Ratio as measurement farming business feasibility. Demographics and economics data of respondents is presented to depict farmer level condition. Statistical data analysis is performed to identify significant factors affecting NPV and B/C Ratio. It is found that demographics and economics status has effect to NPV and B/C Ratio. The results show implementing intercropping farming method can increase NPV and B/C Ratio for all farming groups. Applying second seeding as farming activities especially in Ngudi Roso and Merapi Asri farming group is recommended to gain high B/C Ratio. But, Melati Asri farming group is not recommended. So, all stakeholders shall cooperate and develop some programmes to sustain export green beans supply chain especially encouraging and accompanying farmers as producers to be more professional comparing with nowadays condition.
