Through six regional and two national establishments, the Canadian Forest Service cooperates with other government agencies, forest industries, and educational institutions to promote the wise management of the forest resources of Canada. Individual regional centres undertake research in response to the needs of the various resource managers in the different regions of Canada. The results of this research are distributed in scientific and technical repo rts, seminars, workshops, public meetings and related activities. This annotated bibliography is a cooperative effort of the Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, Pacific and Yukon Regions, and it is published by the Newfoundland and Labrador Region of the Canadian Forest Se rvice. (LEPIDOPTERA: GEOMETRIDAE) by A.G. Raskel, I.S. Otvos2 and L.J. Jobin3 INTRODUCTION The hemlock looper, Lambdina fiscellaria (Guenée), is one of several native species whose populations periodically increase to outbreak levels causing severe defoliation of its hosts.
