Al-Farabi KazNU est leader dans la classification générale des universités du Kazakhstan et a été le premier lauréat, dans l’histoire du pays du pays de la République du Kazakhstan, "pour la qualité de ses réalisations », lauréat du Prix de la CEI pour ses réalisations dans le domaine de la qualité et des services. KazNU étant membre de l’Association Internationale des Universités et co-fondateur de l’Association Eurasienne des Universités, a été la première parmi les universités du Kazakhstan et des pays d’Asie centrale à signer la Grande Charte des Universités de Bologne ; elle a réussi à passer la certification internationale sur la correspondance au système de gestion de la qualité (SQM), les exigences des normes internationales ISO 9000 en 2000 et a obtenu les certifications des plus grands centres de certification mondiaux ( le système international de certification IQNET). L’Université dispose d’un énorme potentiel éducatif, scientifique, éducatif, innovante sa production vise à la formation des spécialistes de haute qualification, et une intégration plus poussée dans l’espace éducatif mondial, le développement de la recherche fondamentale et appliquée, et leur mise en œuvre dans la production. Aujourd’hui, al-Farabi KazNU propose un large éventail de spécialités : L’université se compose de 16 facultés, 67 départements, 32 instituts et centres de recherche scientifique, un techno-parc; plus de 2.000 professeurs, médecins, candidats scientifiques et doctorants, plus de 100 académiciens des plus grandes académies, plus de 40 personnalités honorées de la République du Kazakhstan, environ 40 lauréats d’État et des prix nominaux de RK et 40 lauréats des prix des jeunes scientifiques, 47 boursiers de bourses scientifiques d’État. Plus de 18.000 étudiants de l’enseignement professionnel supérieur étudient à l’université. Al-Farabi KazNU coopère avec 418 grandes universités internationales du monde sur la réalisation de programmes éducatifs internationaux conjoints, des programmes d’échange pour les étudiants et des stages. GED JR 11-194 Avant-propos L'Agence japonaise de coopération internationale (JICA) a décidé de mener une Etude préparatoire à la coopération pour le Projet d'approvisionnement en au potable et assainissement en milieu rural et semi-urbain dans les régions Maritime et Savanes en République Togolaise, et à confié son exécution à Sanyu Consultants Inc. La mission d'étude s'est rendu au Togo de décembre 2010 à novembre 2011 pour des discussions avec les personnes concernées du gouvernement togolais et pour effectuer une étude sur place dans la zone du projet, et a compilé le présent rapport suite aux travaux après son retour au Japon. Nous souhaitons que le présent rapport contribue à la promotion de ce projet, voire au développement des relations amicales entre les deux pays. Project Background and Context: Geographical and environmental context Togo is a West African country located between latitudes 60 and 110 north, and longitudes 00 and 1.400 east. It is bounded to the north by Burkina Faso, to the south by the Gulf of Guinea, east by Benin and to the west by Ghana. With an area of 56,600 km², it stretches from north to south over a length of 600 km in a straight line and has a width that varies between 50 and 150 km. It has a coastline of about 50 km, which opens onto the Gulf of Guinea. It is divided into five administrative regions: Savanes, Kara, Central, Plateaux and Maritime where the capital Lomé is located (Figure 1). Togo’s relief consists of rugged terrain, except for the Atakora mountain range that crosses the country in a southwest to northeast line.

The control of a public health disease is rightly considered by medical authorities as a health priority, especially when it j.s severely disabling for a considerable part of the population. The health priority becomes a national imperative when such a disease prevents the socioeconomic development of many areas 1n the country. When it extends beyond the borders of one country and the solution to the problem of public health lies in activities involving several countries, it ls necessary to arrive at a regional control. The inter-country cooperatlon can then appeal for in*.ernational aid proportional to the scope of the activity to be carried out. 2. Qnchocerciasis control corresponds to the above outline. This concerns bringing under control a severely disabling disease, river blindness, that is widespread in some of the African regions. This control will prompt the populations to reclaim lands that had been abandoned in the past and this will make it possible to improve the socj-oeconomic development of several countries. 3. It was with this end in vj.ew that four international agencies of the United Nations systems (UNDP, FAO, the Wor1d Bank, WHO), supported by a group of donors, decided in 7974 to assist seven West African countries (Benin, Burkj-na Faso, C6te d'Ivoire, Ghana, Ma1i, Niger and Togo) affected by onchocerclaisis.

    UNDP Project Document Government of Togo Executing Agency: Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Directorate of Wildlife and Hunting Other Partners: Ministry of Agriculture, Joint Program for Poverty Reduction and Localization of the MDGs PNADE (National Program of Decentralized Environmental Actions), European Union, UEMOA United Nations Development Program Global Environment Facility - GEF GEF’s Strategic Programme for West Africa – SPWA / Sub-component Biodiversity UNDP GEF PIMS no. 4220 Strengthening the conservation role of Togo’s national System of Protected Areas (PA) Brief description Following socio-political upheaval in the country in the 1990s and the near-total withdrawal of international development cooperation, Togo's PA system, along with much of the country's infrastructure, has fallen into severe decline. National Parks and Reserves are poorly managed, there is no overall strategy for PA management, legal and policy frameworks are inadequate, resources very limited and staff lacks the means, training and motivation to do their jobs. In the Oti-Mandouri Faunal Reserve and adjacent Kéran National Park, the boundaries of the PAs are not respected and local communities have invaded, installing crops, livestock pasture and villages and devastating habitats through unsustainable exploitation (bushfires, fuelwood and charcoal production, hunting). Conflicts between wildlife, farmers and herders are increasing, exacerbated by additional pressure from transhumant people and livestock and climate change. The once rich fauna of these two PA, which together form the Oti-Kéran-Mandouri (OKM) Complex (site focus of the Project), has largely disappeared. This threatens biodiversity on a regional ecosystem scale, as the sites form part of traditional elephant and other large mammal migration corridors.

    INTERNATIONAL TROPICAL TIMBER ORGANIZATION ITTO PROJECT PROPOSAL TITLE ESTABLISHING A GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR THE SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF THE FOREST AREAS OF TOGO SERIAL NUMBER PD 581/10 Rev. 2(F) COMMITTEE REFORESTATION AND FOREST MANAGEMENT SUBMITTED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF TOGO ORIGINAL LANGUAGE FRENCH SUMMARY The forest sector of Togo is characterized by a lack of geo-spatial organization and insufficiently reliable data. This represents a barrier to planning and forestry development. Therefore it is important for Togo to organize and improve information on the forestry sector. This project will establish a Geographic Information System (GIS) in this sector, which, through the committed involvement of the entire forestry administration, will facilitate the operation of a centralized management system for the geo-spatial data of the forest sector; it will also enable the fast production of forest maps and facilitate the management of logging concession agreements. It will thus provide a decision tool for understanding ongoing forestry activities and the development of future policies to help sustainably manage forests in the country.
