ATTACHMENT D: Bocconi Residence Regulations

Introduction Bocconi Housing assignments are made with the aim of offering off-campus students the possibility to study at Bocconi in a comfortable and scholastic environment. The residences meet a variety of student needs: from the fundamental and practical need to have a stable base from which to attend university to the need to develop social relationships. The Bocconi Residences provide an environment for cultural and educational enrichment.

Article 1 Residents for the entire period of the housing assignment, in accordance with the regulations, will enjoy access to the Residence premises within the limits set forth in current regulations and with regard to the rights and freedoms of other students. As housing assignments are strictly non-transferable, an assigned placement shall not be given to, used by or shared with any third parties, even temporarily. A breach of this rule will result in the immediate termination of a resident’s housing assignment and may result in civil and criminal penalties for the resident.

Article 2 Residents must practice good and appropriate conduct that is respectful of the personal integrity and dignity of others, as well as the integrity and decorum of the places wherein university life takes place. Residents will not disturb or prevent other residents from living and studying in a comfortable environment in any way. Anyone who does not comply with these regulations may be removed from the Bocconi Residences, with the loss of their security deposit and a possible referral to the Disciplinary Committee.

Article 3 Residents are responsible for maintaining their assigned rooms in good order, as well as the common areas, furniture and fittings, fixtures and equipment, floors and walls. Università Bocconi staff and residence management may undertake periodic inspections of rooms for service purposes. A second key to each room is available for the use of residence management. Residents may not install any door-locking device in their rooms other than that which is in place. Resident students must allow maintenance, cleaning and security staff to have access to their rooms. It is the specific obligation of residents to provide timely communications – through the proper online form – to the head of residence management of any damage or malfunctioning of the housing that s/he is aware of. Residents must leave their rooms in the same hygienic and sanitary conditions as when they arrived. Any restoration costs are the responsibility of the student and will be reimbursed to the residence manager. In case of default, the security deposit will be withheld until the student has fully complied with his/her obligations.

Article 4 Pursuant to paragraph 7 of Annexure 1/A to Italian Law 180 of 18/7/80, no. 406, the use of any kind of stove for heating food, gas heaters or electric heaters with an open heating element, kerosene or coal-burning or other similar heaters, other than those provided, is prohibited in students’ rooms. The use of electrical appliances and similar equipment for heating or cooling is also prohibited.

Article 5 Students may have visitors, within the limits set out in the articles below and on condition that they do not disturb other residents. Visitors must respect the Regulations in force while they are in the building. The resident is responsible for all aspects of his/her guest’s behavior, including disciplinarily with regards to the University, and is responsible for violations of the regulations carried out by his/her guests. Meetings with non-residents, as well as meetings of residents, must take place in the designated areas. The Management may from time to time authorize non-residents to visit rooms, subject to those visitors leaving an identification document at reception. Visitors must leave the room and the residence building each day by 12am midnight. Any breach will result in the expulsion from the residence with loss of the security deposit and referral to the Disciplinary Committee.

29

Management reserves the right to carry out checks and to seek compensation from those responsible for any theft of or damage to furniture, fittings, structures or anything else in their care. The cost of repair of damage caused shall be billed to those responsible.

Article 6 The Management of the residence and the related Students’ Commission are responsible for ensuring compliance with the above rules for communal living, and for notifying Università Bocconi, where necessary, of any breach that occurs or is repeated, so that the appropriate measures may be taken. Any complaint about staff, service, other residents or any other kind whatsoever, must be made to ISU Bocconi/Student Services Office, who will pass the complaint on to Management. The use of radios, televisions, etc., must not disturb others and may not be used between 12am midnight and 7am.

Article 7 In the case of inappropriate conduct by residents, serious breaches of the Regulations in force, or damage to residence furniture or fittings, Management shall report the occurrence to Università Bocconi so that the relevant disciplinary measures may be taken. If the responsible party of the damages is not identified, the cost of damage reparations to return items to state of the art conditions will occur as follows:

- damages inside the room: billed to the resident assigned that room; - damages inside the apartment: billed to all residents of that apartment; - damages on a floor: billed to all residents of that floor; - damages in the common areas: billed all residents of the Residence.

Article 8 Repeated absence without a reason given will result in permanent eviction of the resident from the accommodation building.

Article 9 A resident’s housing assignment will be automatically and immediately be terminated in the event:

- the resident transfers to another university; - the resident withdraws from Bocconi; - the resident graduates. In this case, the accommodation must be left permanently by the end of the same month. The interested party may request to be allowed the possibility of using the accommodation at the full rate until 31 July; - the resident incurs disciplinary sanctions greater than an official reprimand; - the resident is responsible for serious violations of the Bocconi Housing regulations;

Article 10 Resident students who are behind on their payments, or who have been removed from the residence for disciplinary or other reasons, must remove all their property from the building after Università Bocconi has exercised its rights over it pursuant to Article 2760 of the Italian Civil Code. If students do not comply with this regulation, residence staff has the right to seize items left behind on the premises, where they will be held for a year for the owner to collect them. Regarding the operation and the possible necessity to open any wardrobes or drawers, a report will be made witnessed by two persons and a representative of Università Bocconi.

Article 11 Università Bocconi is not responsible for any goods, valuables, money, etc., that residents keep in their rooms. Students may request management to store valuable objects in a safe, where this service is available.

Article 12 The accommodation fees are annual and may be paid in advance according to the procedures and by the deadlines communicated to guests when required.

Article 13 Newly assigned residents must pay a housing deposit of €500.00. This deposit shall be returned to the student, without interest, when the student permanently leaves the assigned housing, on condition that the student has 30

not outstanding debts to the University or to the management. The deposit will not be returned if the student leaves the residence early for personal reasons, and will be kept as a deposit in case of default.

The deposit may also be used to contribute towards compensation for any damages caused to residence facilities as well as to returning the room to proper hygienic and sanitary conditions and maintaining the room in good order.

Article 14 The accommodation agreement shall be exclusively between resident students and the Management of the residence. With regard to the agreement between residence Management and residents, reference is made to the laws that regulate the agreements between hotel proprietors and their clientele.

Article 15 Each year student residents in the Bocconi Residence Hall will autonomously elect two representatives for each building for relations with Università Bocconi and the Management.

Article 16 1. The opening the emergency doors is prohibited. 2. The tampering with fire extinguishers or any other security system is prohibited. 3. The obstruction of external and internal emergency stairs is prohibited. These passageways must always be kept completely clear. 4. The drying of clothes on balconies or from windows is prohibited. This is only permitted in the bathrooms. 5. The storage of bulky or items which could damage the building, apartment, room or common area and fittings, walls or floors (e.g., skis, bicycles, trunks, etc.) is prohibited. 6. The soiling, blocking or occupying in any way with materials or furnishings of any kind whatever, even temporarily, the building entrance or other passageways is prohibited. 7. The throwing of water or any objects out of the windows, balconies or roof tops is prohibited. 8. The use and/or storage of electrical appliances in rooms and apartments other than those provided is prohibited. 9. Disturbing other residents with excessive noise by yelling, watching television or listening to the radio, etc., is prohibited. 10. The removal of furniture or fittings from rooms, apartments or common areas is prohibited. 11. Animals are not permitted in Residence rooms or apartments. 12. The use of balconies for storage is prohibited. 13. The throwing of or disposal of bulky objects or substances in toilets or sinks is prohibited. 14. The possession of flammable, explosive or corrosive materials in rooms or materials which could harm or cause danger to persons or objects is prohibited. 15. The use of the elevator by anyone who is unfamiliar with its operation, or by children unaccompanied by an adult is prohibited. 16. The use of emergency exits is prohibited; with the exception of emergencies. 17. Receiving collect telephone calls is prohibited. The placing of operator-connected calls is prohibited. 18. The replacement of the telephone provided with a different telephone is prohibited. 19. The abuse of alcoholic beverages is prohibited. 20. Visitors are not allowed between 12am midnight and 7am. Students who do not comply with this rule will lose the Housing Service benefit and have to leave the dorm.

Article 17 Parties may be organized in the common areas, on the following conditions: - the Housing Center and the Management must receive advance notice of at least 5 business days; - parties must end by 12am midnight: - each non-resident must have a fixed resident host in the residence hall who is held responsible regarding violations of the regulations the non-resident may be guilty of; - parties must be organized by two students who assume the responsibility of regulating the event.

Article 18 Università Bocconi reserves the right to transfer guests, even during the year, to another residence hall. 31

Article 19 Residents who do not follow the rules in these regulations will be reported to the Rector of Università Bocconi, for disciplinary provisions which could lead to the permanent eviction from the Residence and for the revocation of scholarship or any other financial assistance.

40 ATTACHMENT I: Requirements Regarding Financial Conditions for Allocation of Reduced Rate Housing

I.1 Requirements regarding financial conditions

Criteria for access to assistance: Indicator of university equivalent assets situation (I.S.P.E./I.S.P.E.U.) and indicator of university equivalent financial situation (I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U.)

Students who apply for reduced rate housing must have in 2013, in relation to their household, both:

- an indicator of university equivalent financial situation (I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U.) no greater than €20,728.45; - an indicator of university equivalent assets situation (I.S.P.E./I.S.P.E.U.) no greater than €34,979.27.

The indicators are calculated as explained in the following paragraphs. For all student applicants whose family household held assets at 31 December 2013 or produced income in 2013 in countries outside Italy, please note that, pursuant to Italian D.G.R. 2013 of Italian D.lgs 286/98, of Italian D.P.R. n. 394 of 31 August 1999, declarations that attest an annual income less than €5,818.93 will not be considered valid for the purposes of ISU Bocconi eligibility, as it is incompatible with immigration regulations.

I.1.1 Method for evaluating financial conditions The evaluation of the student’s financial conditions is based on the Indicator of the Equivalent Financial Situation (I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U.), pursuant to Government Decree n°109 of 31 March 1998, modified by Government Decree n° 130 of 3 May 2000 related to adjusted income and assets of 2013, corrected adopting the I.S.E.E.U. parameter as foreseen by the Law - D.P.C.M. of 9 April 2001 “Uniformity of Treatment in the Right to University Study, pursuant to article 4 of Law 390 of 2 December 1991”.

I.1.2 Calculating the I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U. The I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U. Certification is a self-certification that provides access to social services or services of public utility at favorable conditions. It can be requires at any Tax Assistance Center or qualified intermediary.

I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U. is calculated using the financial situation indicator (obtained as the sum of income received by family members increased with 20% of the value of the assets) matched to the number of family members (equivalence scale).

To integrate the norms foreseen regarding the introduction of unification criteria for the evaluation of the equivalent financial situation, the following specific situations will be considered to determine the I.S.E.E.U. indicator: . 50% of the income and assets of brothers and/or sisters who are part of the student’s household contributes to the formation of all the indicators of the patrimonial and financial status; . household members’ personal estate held and income received abroad in 2013 will be evaluated on the basis of the average exchange rate for 2013; . real estate located abroad, owned on 31 December 2013, is evaluated only in the case of buildings, and is assessed on the basis of the value of € 500 per square meter.

A simulation of the ISEE calculation can be carried out, with purely indicative values that do not make up the actual certification, on the website http://www.inps.it/Servizi/isee.

I.1.3 Calculation of the household The household is defined in article 1 Bis 3/a of Law - D.P.C.M. n° 221 of 7 May 1999, which states the information included below. For more information, please refer to Attachment J.

Composition of the family household: 1. In accordance with this decree, each subject shall belong to only one family household. Members who are part of the registered family pursuant to article 4 of Presidential Decree n° 223 of 30 May 1989 are part of the family household, except the cases set forth by the following paragraphs. 2. Subjects who are dependents according to IRPEF, even if members of another registered family, are part of the family household in which they are a dependent. If a subject results as a dependent of more than one person according to IRPEF, then, among the family households in which he/she is a dependent, the subject is considered a member of the family household: a. of the person of whose registered family the subject is part of;

41 b. if the subject is not part of the registered family of any of these persons, he/she is a dependent of the person required to allocate alimony pursuant to article 433 and subsequent articles of the Italian Civil Code, according to the order stated therein; in the case that more than one person must pay alimony at the same level, the subject is considered part of the family household of the person who is required to contribute a larger proportion pursuant to article 441 of the Italian Civil Code. 3. Spouses with the same residence, even those resulting as dependents of other people according to IRPEF, are part of the same family household; only the registry criteria is applied towards them. 4. Spouses with different family registrations, even those resulting as dependents of other people according to IRPEF, are part of the same family household, identified based on the family registration of one of the spouses which is considered corresponding to family residence by mutual consent. The abovementioned attraction criteria do not apply in the following cases: a. when a legal separation or the certification of separation by mutual consent has been approved pursuant to article 711 of the Italian Civil Code Procedures, or rather when separation has been ordered pursuant to article 126 of the Italian Civil Code; b. when a different residence is allowed following temporary and urgent provisions pursuant to article 708 of the Italian Civil Code Procedures; c. when one of the spouses has been excluded from parental authority or when, pursuant to article 333 of the Italian Civil Code, the provision of removal from the family residence has been adopted; d. when one of the cases treated by article 3 of Italian Law n° 898 of 1 December 1970 and its subsequent modifications has occurred, and a request for dissolution or termination of the civil effects of the marriage have been submitted; e. when the abandonment of a spouse took place and was verified by courts or by public authorities qualified in social services matters. 5. Children who are under the age of 18, even those who are dependents of other people according to IRPEF, are part of the family household of the parent with whom he/she results as a resident. A minor who is in pre- adoptive foster care, or in temporary foster care with third parties provided or made enforceable by court order, is part of the foster family household, even if he/she results in another registered family or is a dependent of another subject according to IRPEF. A minor in foster care who is placed in communities or institutes for assistance is considered a separate family household. 6. Subjects who are registered as living with others pursuant to article 5 of the Presidential Decree n° 223 of 30 May 1989 are considered a separate family household, excepting when he/she must be considered a member of the spouse’s family household, or rather of the family household of the person of whom the subject is a dependent of according to IRPEF, pursuant to the provisions in this article. If a parent and a minor child are part of the same registered residence, the minor child is considered a member of the same family household as the parent. 7. Pursuant to article 3.2 of the Italian Legislative Decree n° 109 of 31 March 1998, and its subsequent modifications, regarding particular services, bodies qualified to provide the same services may use as a reference unit the composition of the family household extracted among the subjects indicated in this article.

I.1.4 Independent students Regarding students who declare they belong to a household which does not include parents, in order to properly consider the subjects who directly support the burden of maintaining the student, the applicant’s household will be integrated with that of his or her parents unless both of the following requirements are met: . the student’s residence, resulting from the registry evidence, is different from that of the family of origin and has been established for at least two years prior to the date of the submission of the application, in a property not owned by a member of the original family household; . the student’s own income derived from dependent or assimilated work, which is not performed for a family member, and declared for taxation purposes for at least two years prior to the date of the submission of the application, is not less than €7,766.00 per year.

If both of the abovementioned conditions are not met – and duly documented for all the years of reference – the student cannot be considered as independent and for this reason the financial conditions of the student’s family of origin will be taken into consideration for ISU Bocconi eligibility and the final ISU Bracket.

I.2 Submission of application and documentation In order for the application to be considered regularly submitted it is necessary that:

- the interested party enters personal data online (the data entry is necessary for the production of the application form, but in no circumstances does not replace the submission of the actual application); - the application form is to be printed, signed and sent to the Housing Center, as specified in the Housing Application Requirements and Regulations, together with the requested documents indicated in this attachment.

42 Failure to insert information online as set out in the regulations or failure to submit the signed application and/or one or more documents will result in the disqualification from the application.

The necessary documentation must be sent via registered mail to the Housing Center – Università Bocconi – Piazza Sraffa 11, 20136 Milan Italy (postmark date will be considered as the date of submission), or delivered, strictly in a sealed envelope to the Welcome Desk of the One-Stop Service Center of the Università Bocconi – Piazza Sraffa, 13 – 20136 Milan Italy (the delivery date will be considered as the date of submission) by and no later than 22 September 2014.

The documentation indicated below must be sent and MUST BE bound with a plastic spiral binding in a single booklet with the cover page being the signed and dated application form. It is not necessary to bind translated and legalized documents, but they must be submitted at the same time as the booklet and in the same envelope. All documents must be provided even if submitted in the past and/or to other University Offices. Documents will not be returned, therefore students are invited to keep a photocopy of the documents they submit. Failure to send documentation on time will result in the cancellation of the application.

I.3 Required documents for all applicants:

 application form received by email, duly printed and signed by the student;  copy of a valid ID or passport;  financial documentation for income and assets in Italy, if available – read paragraph I.3.1  financial documentation for income and assets abroad, if available – read paragraph I.3.2

Documents required for specific cases:

 Only for students with a disability equivalent or greater than 66%: a copy of certification given by a Medical Commission which verifies the percentage of disability;  Only for non-first year students in MSc programs who completed their undergraduate degree at another Italian university and who intend to use the bonus points: self-certification form available online at www.unibocconi.eu/housingdesk  Only for students who requested the HOUSINGdesk to consider them as independents, the following supplementary documentation is required:  2012 and 2013 CUD document;  2012 and 2013 tax returns;  Proof of permanent address for 2012 and 2013;  Rental or loan contact for housing for 2012 and 2013, or if owner of the home, copy of the deed.

I.3.1 Documentation for assets and income produced in Italy The evaluation of the economic situation of student, whose nuclear family’s income and assets derive from Italy, it is necessary to provide and I.S.E.E. for the 2014 year relevant to the 2013 year, along with the Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica (document necessary in order to produce the I.S.E.E. by the qualified institute) signed in each place foreseen. The following values indicated in the I.S.E.E. will be taken in consideration: - I.S.P.E. (indicatore di situazione patrimoniale equivalente) - and I.S.E.E. (indicatore di situazione economica equivalente)

In this case, in addition to the required documentation, financial documentation to submit for income and assets in Italy is:

 I.S.E.E. Certificate issued in 2014 and referring to 2013; □ Related unique declaration form (Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica) signed by the registrant in each section (the registrant, the person undersigning the DSU and, according to the Italian Presidential Decree 445/2000, is charged with civil and criminal responsibility for the complete and correct compilation of the information provided. The registrant must place the “signature of subscription” of the DSU and the “signatures of the registrant” that are as many as the number of members of the family household).  Further documentation required for specific cases with assets held and income produced in Italy

 If applicable, I.S.E.E.U. Certificate referring to 2013: In addition to the documents listed above, the I.S.E.E.U. Certificate is required for assets held and/or income produced abroad or in the presence of the student’s

43 brothers or sisters in the family household with income produced in 2013 or assets held at the date of 31-12- 2013. In this case, I.S.P.E.U. and I.S.E.E.U. parameters will be considered for the evaluation;  If the assets of the household include unlisted companies or shares of unlisted companies: Annual Reports as of 31-12-2013, Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Notes to the financial statements;  Only in cases in which the parents are legally divorced/separated: i. copy of the divorce/separation certificate ii. copy of the individual tax income return (form 730, Unico, etc) of the parent of which the student is considered dependent.

Student with an I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U. still considered valid but which refers to a year other than the one required, will not be able to submit this document for this application but will have to acquire an I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U which refers to 2013. Failure to do so will result in the disqualification of the student’s application.

The I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U. which refers to the 2013 year can be requested from and C.A.A.F. or qualified intermediate. It is possible to consult ASSOCAAF – Via Salaino, 10 Milano, by appointment only. For an appointment call +39 02 48537477. For further information please see: www.assocaaf.it.

Please note! Students who declare for 2013 a total gross income of between €0.00 and €5,818.93 and who are eligible for assistance will be asked to provide information regarding financial means of support used for essential needs (consumption, rent, etc.) during the year.

I.3.2 Documentation for assets and income deriving from countries outside of Italy

Please be aware that, pursuant to Italian D.G.R. 2013, Italian Legislative Decree 286/98, Italian D.P.R n.394, 31 August 1999, Non-EU applicants who declare an annual income less than €5,818.93 will not be considered eligible for the purposes of ISU Bocconi, as it is incompatible with immigration regulations. Students who indicate and income below the abovementioned amount will be therefore automatically assigned to the 4th ISU bracket.

On the basis of the Presidential Decree n°394 of 31 August 1999, the financial and asset situation for foreign students must be certified with appropriate documentation as follows:

1. the documentation must be issued by the relevant authorities in the country where the income was earned; 2. then it must be translated into Italian by qualified local Italian diplomatic representatives. 3. finally, it must to be legalized according one of the following:

i. by the qualified local Italian diplomatic authorities; ii. or by the relevant diplomatic or consular authorities of the given country in Italy; iii. Documents are exempt from legalization on the condition that they bear an “Apostille” and for the documents issued in one of the signatory countries of Hague Conference on Private International Law, 5 October 1961. For more information: http://www.hcch.net/index_en.php?act=text.display&tid=160 iv. Only documents drawn up by diplomatic or consular representatives from the following countries are exempt from legalization: Austria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain (extended to the Isle of Man), Greece, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Moldova, the Netherlands (extended to the Dutch Antilles and Aruba), Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey. v. Any form of legalization or any other equivalent or analogous formality is not required between Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, including in cases in which documents must be shown to consular representatives from Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland and Italy working in the territory of a country that has not ratified the aforementioned Convention. For other EU countries, though signatories of the Brussels Convention, the consular or Apostille regime of legalization shall hold fast, if signatories to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961.

The same regulations apply to students, regardless of their nationality, whose household derives assets or income in countries outside Italy.

Assets and income produced outside of the eurozone will be evaluated based on the 2013 average exchange rate, stated in the Attachment L.

44 For those countries where it is particularly difficult to receive certification from the local Italian embassy, the documentation shall be provided by the relevant diplomatic or consular authorities of the given country in Italy and legalized by the Prefecture (Prefettura) pursuant to article 33 of Italian D.P.R. n. 445 of 28 December 2000.

For foreign students coming from countries with low human development, listed in Ministerial Decree of 18 February 2013, and specified below, the evaluation of the student’s financial position is carried out on the basis of certification issued by the Italian Representation in the student’s country, which declares that the student does not come from a family known to have a high income and social level. This certification can also be given by Italian authorities which are qualified to give a guarantee of economic coverage under the current enrolment arrangements for foreign students at Italian universities. In the latter case, the certifying body must provide a written commitment to reimburse the scholarship on behalf of the student, in case the scholarship is revoked. Countries with a low human development to which these regulations apply are the following: Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo Dem. Rep., Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Kiribati, Laos, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Samoa, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zambia.

Students that present assets and/or income deriving from countries other than Italy, must also declare any income and assets held in Italy by any member of their household, according to Italian Government Decree n°109 of 31 March 1999, modified by Italian Government Decree n°130 of 3 May 2000, and, consequently, must present ISEE certification which declares these earnings.

All students whose family households owned assets at 31 December 2013 or earned income in 2013 in countries other than Italy must submit the following documentation – even if already partially submitted during previous years and/or to other University offices – for evaluation of income/assets conditions for the year 2013:

46 ATTACHMENT J: FAMILY HOUSEHOLD - A few examples

Applicants who are children of separated or divorced parents in case of abandonment - custody to third parties In case of separation/divorce approved by the Courts, the applicant must consider the financial conditions of the parent that collects his/her child support, to whom the applicant is a fiscal dependent, and all members of that family household.

In case of applicants living in a family household comprising a legally separated or divorced parent who collects child support (ex: the mother), but is 100% fiscally dependent on the other parent (the father), the student will be included in the family household of the father for financial dependence (article 1 bis, paragraph 2, ISEE Regulations). To apply article 5, paragraph 5 of Italian DPCM 8.4.2001, the family household will therefore be integrated with that of the mother.

In case of applicants living with a family household not including any of the legally separated or divorced parents, making use of deductions for dependent students, the requester of assistance will be integrated into the family household of the parent with a larger share of child support, pursuant to article 441 of the Italian Civil Code. The family household thus composed will then be integrated with the family household of the parent, if not already present, that collects any child support for the student, as established by the separation verdict.

In case of applicants living in a family household not including any of the legally separated or divorced parents, in absence of fiscal dependence by any of the latter, the family household of the student will be integrated with the family household of the parent who collects child support, if provided for in the verdict. If not available, the student will be integrated with the family household of the parent held to a greater amount of alimony, pursuant to article 441 of the Italian Civil Code.

In the absence of legal separation or divorce or of any other judicial provision, as in the case of de facto separation, if the parents belong to two different family households, the family household of the student is added to that of both parents, unless the condition of desertion of the spouse exists, which is verified by judicial authorities or the public authority qualified in the matter of social services (in any case, judicial or administrative procedures need to be already in progress regarding the status of desertion/abandonment).

In cases in which a provision exists in which the qualifying Court orders the forfeiture of one or both parents from the authority over children with custody to third parties, the applicant must document his/her financial conditions in addition to that of all the members of the family household of the subject to whom the applicant was given custody.

Applicants who may not be considered “independents” pursuant to article 10 of these Regulations, included in a family household that does not include any parent and married parents: In case of parents not making use of deductions for dependent students, the family household of the student will be integrated with both parents (and any other people present in the respective family households or fiscally dependent on them).

In case of parents making use of deductions for dependent students, only the student (therefore excluding all other people who may be part of his/her family household) is a family household with both parents (and any other people present in the respective family households or fiscally dependent on them).

Applicants who are orphans or with one deceased parent The restrictions for the condition of “independent” students (ART. 10) do not apply to applicants who are orphans with two deceased parents, and the evaluation of their financial conditions depends exclusively on the income produced/assets held of the student’s family household, which is that resulting from the family status, during the period of reference set out in the regulations.

Applicants who are children of single parents The family household of a student living in a family household made up of only one of the parents who have never been married, is integrated with the family household of the other parent.

Married applicants Applicants who have a proper marriage contract must attest the financial conditions of all the members of the conventional family household made up as a result of the marriage, to which the spouse also belongs, who may be an IRPEF dependent of another person, in addition to the people present in the family status and any subjects dependent on them.

47 ATTACHMENT K: Full rate Housing - Room type preference

All Bocconi housing has a high standard of quality. What characterizes housing and diversifies it is: the layout of each Residence Hall, their location and the annual fee.

Preferences can be made regarding the residence hall, room type and price bracket of the possible housing assignment when completing the online application. Please note that this is a preference only. In case of assignment, the Housing Center will take into consideration the communicated preferences according to: room availability, ranking position and the applicant’s gender.

In the following table, which is also included on the online application, preferences can be expressed with 1 indicating the most preferred room type, up to 13 to indicated the least preferred.

If a student is certain he/she will not accept a certain room type, “NOT ACCEPT” can be selected in the order of preferences. In this case, the student will limit the possibilities of receiving an assignment as, if there is no housing available among the preferences indicated at the time of assignments, no housing will be assigned.

For more information on features of the residence hall, see Attachment A.
