I stayed at the Aqua Coconut, one of my friends stayed at the Aqua Bamboo & Spa and still another stayed at the Aqua Palms & Spa. None of these hotels enjoy a beach front location, but with room rates well below $130 a night, the short walk required to reach the crowded part of Waikiki was never a problem. My room at the Coconut was very nicely appointed. Everything looked brand new, and probably was. The small kitchenette sported black granite counter tops, a mini refrigerator and microwave and even a coffee pot. There was a huge, flat screen TV along the far wall that swiveled to face the bed, and the bathroom, though small, was very stylish with its vessel sink. There was a balcony with two chairs and a table, but because of the somewhat urban location, there wasn’t too much to look at. I had a chance to visit my friend’s room at the Bamboo and it was very similar, although the pool area was much more private and the water in the pool, much warmer.
