G.N. 7925 Transport Department Road Traffic Ordinance (Chapter 374) SPEED LIMIT OF TSING SHA HIGHWAY In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(b) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 7.00 a.m. on 20 December 2009, the following sections of Tsing Sha Highway are liable to be subject at different times to the speed limits of 50 kilometres per hour or 80 kilometres per hour:— (a) the slip road from Container Port Road South eastbound to Tsing Sha Highway eastbound from a point about 43 metres west of its junction with Tsing Sha Highway eastbound to the same junction; (b) the slip road from northbound to Tsing Sha Highway westbound; (c) the slip road from Tsing Sha Highway eastbound to West Kowloon Highway southbound; (d ) the slip road from Ching Cheung Road eastbound to Tsing Sha Highway eastbound from a point about 10 metres west of its junction with Tsing Sha Highway eastbound to the same junction; (e) ; ( f ) the slip road from Road to Tsing Sha Highway eastbound from a point about 14 metres west of its junction with Tsing Sha Highway eastbound to the same junction; (g) the slip road from Tsing Yi Road to Tsing Sha Highway westbound from a point about 23 metres east of its junction with Tsing Sha Highway westbound to the same junction; (h) the slip road from Tsing Sha Highway westbound to slow lane of westbound from its junction with the western portal of Nam Wan Tunnel to its junction with slow lane of Cheung Tsing Highway westbound; (i) the westbound carriageway of Tsing Sha Highway from its junction with the southern portal of Eagle’s Nest Tunnel to its junction with the eastern portal of Nam Wan Tunnel; ( j) the westbound carriageway of Tsing Sha Highway from its junction with the western portal of Nam Wan Tunnel to a point about 1021 metres west of the same junction; (k) the eastbound carriageway of Tsing Sha Highway from a point about 953 metres west of its junction with western portal of Nam Wan Tunnel to the same junction; and (l) the eastbound carriageway of Tsing Sha Highway from its junction with eastern portal of Nam Wan Tunnel to its junction with the southern portal of Eagle’s Nest Tunnel. Any change in the speed limit in accordance with this notice may be put into effect from time to time by traffic signs to be erected, replaced, removed or altered so as to ensure that adequate guidance is given to drivers of motors vehicles as to the speed limits currently to be observed on the roads. At the same time, the existing speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour on the following road sections as gazetted in G.N. 1818 dated 20 March 2008 will be rescinded:— (a) the southbound carriageway of Tsing Sha Highway from its junction with the slip road leading from West Kowloon Highway westbound to its junction with the slip road leading to Container Port Road South southbound; (b) the northbound carriageway of Tsing Sha Highway from a point about 43 metres south of its junction with the slip road leading from Container Port Road South northbound to a point about 560 metres south of its junction with the slip road leading from Ching Cheung Road eastbound; (c) the slip road from West Kowloon Highway westbound to Tsing Sha Highway southbound; (d ) the slip road from Tsing Sha Highway northbound to West Kowloon Highway eastbound; and (e) the slip road from Ching Cheung Road eastbound to Tsing Sha Highway northbound from a point about 40 metres south of its junction with Tsing Sha Highway northbound to the same junction. And the existing speed limits of 50 kilometres per hour or 80 kilometres per hour on the following road sections as gazetted in G.N. 1820 dated 20 March 2008 will also be rescinded:— (a) the southbound carriageway of Tsing Sha Highway from its junction with the southern portal of Eagle’s Nest Tunnel to its junction with the slip road leading from West Kowloon Highway westbound; and (b) the northbound carriageway of Tsing Sha Highway from a point about 560 metres south of its junction with the slip road leading from Ching Cheung Road eastbound to its junction with the southern portal of Eagle’s Nest Tunnel.
