ACTIVITIES SERVICES

INTEGRATED WATER SERVICES FOR DISTRICTS For more than 20 years we have been guaranteeing outstanding management of an integrated water cycle in districts. This has always been through the supply of top quality drinking water and the utmost respect for nature.

The stages involved in the water cycle begin with the CATCHMENT of natural water, followed by its treatment for drinkable water at a DWTP, the maintenance and control of the water RESER- VOIRS, and management of district networks. In addition, continuous water analysis is carried out to check its status and thus guarantee the highest quality, from the tap to the end user.

Another service is the water supply network’s systematic assessment and sewerage. This means that, in districts where Espina & Delfín manages water, there are high rates of return and a mini- mal loss of water through the usage of the latest technologies available on the market for leaka- ge detection and repair.

The wastewater treatment cycle ends on arrival at a WWTP. After treatment, water is returned to the natural environment or reused in irrigation with a minimal environmental impact, thus continuing to contribute to a sustainable development of integrated management. Picture 1. The water cycle We currently manage 46 municipal water services in northwest Spain, wich is the equivalent of reaching a total of 150.000 cus- tomers (more than 550.000 inhabitants supplied and in excess of 800.000 in holiday seasons).

URBAN WASTEWATER TREATMENT In the field of wastewater,Espina & Delfin has provided solutions with minimal installation cost whilst streamlining their futu- re operations and maintenance. This has been done within the broad and diverse issues presented in wastewater treatment: whether it be diverse population sizes, domestic urban water or a certain industrial type, populations with high seasonal chan- ges, water plants located in small areas or high visual impact issues and/or environmental factors, as well as various discharge levels.

The result is the implementation of over 60 urban wastewater treatment plants with the equivalent total capacity for a popu- lation of over 600,000. W.W.T.P. URBAN WASTEWATER TREATMENTS PROJECTS EQUIVALENT (W.W.T.P.) COUNTRY CUSTOMER POPULATION

Table / Chart 8. Evolution of Turnover in MM € ECONOMIC DATA FOR THE ESPINA & DELFÍN GROUP LTD. The process of sustained, continuous growth felt by the companies in the Espina & Delfin Group has been slightly affected by the recent years, due to the vagaries of the economy.

Nevertheless, the turnover of the Espina & Delfin Group Ltd. exceeded €37 million in 2014, suc- cessfully overcoming the sharp downturn experienced by the public works sector and the struc- tural problems being experienced in Spain.

The following chart shows how the turnover has remained fairly constant over recent years, both for Espina & Delfin and for the whole group. Successful international expansion has undoub- tedly contributed towards maintaining the sales figures. ECONOMIC DATA FOR THE ESPINA & DELFIN COMPANY, S.L.
