?Les Ventes De Musique Chutent Au Québec VEILLE INDUSTRIELLE ?Les ventes de musique chutent au Québec Diffusé le mercredi 29 avril 2015 Les ventes numériques plafonnent, les ventes physiques poursuivent leur déclin, mais la part québécoise augmente partout. Les ventes numériques ont subi en 2014 une première baisse annuelle selon les résultats dévoilés dans le dernier bulletin Optique culture de l’Observatoire de la culture et des communications du Québec (OCCQ). Cette baisse est de 4 % pour les albums numériques et de 13 % pour les pistes numériques. Dans son dernier bulletin, l’OCCQ relève également que ces baisses, combinées à la baisse de 4 % des ventes des supports physiques, ont fait plafonner la part des produits numériques dans les ventes totales de musique au Québec, qui se maintient à 35 % en termes d’unités vendues. De ces ventes, 22 % sont attribuables aux albums numériques et 13 % aux pistes numériques. La part du numérique dans les ventes totales au Québec se situe en deçà de celle observée aux États-Unis (56 %) et dans l’ensemble des autres provinces canadiennes (58,4 %). Pour expliquer cette baisse des ventes numériques, l’OCCQ émet l’hypothèse que les grands consommateurs de musique numérique auraient abandonné ce mode de consommation au profit d’un abonnement à des services de streaming. L’OCCQ remarque également que la part des artistes québécois a augmenté en 2014 par rapport à 2013, tant pour les ventes sur supports physiques que pour celles sur supports numériques. Ainsi la part des albums d’artistes québécois représente 48,8 % des ventes sur support physique (44,6 % en 2013), 31,1 % des ventes d’albums numériques (26,4 % en 2013) et 8,5 % des ventes de pistes numériques (6,1 % en 2013). Diffusé le mercredi 29 avril 2015 Des entreprises rentables et mieux capitalisées, mais toujours fragiles devant une conjoncture instable. Les entreprises du secteur de la musique et du spectacle ont atteint dans l’ensemble, en 2013-2014, une marge bénéficiaire avant impôt positive de 7,1 %. C’est ce que révèle une récente étude de la SODEC portant sur 108 entreprises bénéficiaires du Programme d’aide aux entreprises en musique et variétés (PADISQ). Cette étude concerne donc les producteurs d’enregistrements sonores, les producteurs de spectacles, les entreprises de gérance et des entreprises diversifiées. L’étude note également que la marge bénéficiaire varie selon la taille et le secteur d’activité de l’entreprise, les plus rentables étant les entreprises diversifiées, dont la marge bénéficiaire a atteint 15,1 % durant la même période. La SODEC relève par ailleurs que l’aide publique de toutes provenances (SODEC, crédits d’impôt et autres subventions du Québec, subventions canadiennes) représente 16,3 % des revenus des entreprises en 2013-2014 et que les revenus autonomes occupent donc une part prépondérante des revenus de celles-ci (84 %). Sans cette aide publique, la SODEC constate que le pourcentage d’entreprises rentables passerait de 68 % des 108 entreprises étudiées à seulement 27 %. Étant donné la situation instable du secteur de la musique et du spectacle au cours des dernières années, la SODEC conclut que les entreprises de ce secteur ont bien performé au cours des dernières années, mais qu’elles demeurent dans une situation assez fragile, plus particulièrement les entreprises de petite taille. En 2014, pour la première fois, les revenus de l’industrie de la musique dans le monde se sont partagés également entre les univers physiques et numériques, un résultat attribuable à une baisse des ventes combinée à une hausse des revenus découlant des services d’écoute de musique en continu. C’est ce que révèle le plus récent rapport publié par la Fédération internationale de l’industrie phonographique (IFPI). Ainsi, au cours de la dernière année, les services d’écoute de musique en continu ont engendré des revenus s’élevant à 1,57 milliard de dollars américains dans le monde. Dans 37 des marchés étudiés, ces revenus sont plus élevés que ceux liés au téléchargement. Mais la hausse du streaming ne suffit pas à compenser les pertes encourues. Pour l’IFPI, le défi principal auquel doit donc s’affairer l’industrie est l’obtention d’une rémunération plus équitable pour les contenus musicaux diffusés sur les différents services en ligne. La fédération pointe particulièrement YouTube, qui, avec son milliard d’utilisateurs uniques par mois, n’a versé que 641 millions de dollars américains en 2014, soit plus de deux fois moins que les services de streaming, qui comptent en revanche environ 140 millions d’utilisateurs (payants et gratuits). En avril 2015, le ministère de la Culture de la Norvège a annoncé que, dès janvier 2017, la radio FM cessera complètement ses activités au profit de la radio numérique terrestre (RNT). Cette décision fait suite à un mandat qui avait été adopté en 2011 par le Parlement norvégien. La transition permettra aux auditeurs d’accéder à davantage de canaux. En effet, la bande FM offre accès à cinq radios nationales, alors que la RNT norvégienne permet déjà d’accéder à 22 chaînes nationales et a la capacité d’en accueillir 20 de plus. La qualité du son sera également meilleure et un plus grand nombre de fonctionnalités sera offert. Enfin, notons que cette transition devrait générer des économies estimées à 31 millions de dollars canadiens. Actuellement, 99,5 % de la population est couverte par la RNT et plus de la moitié de la population norvégienne écoute déjà la radio par son entremise. Globalement, les ventes ont augmenté de 54,7 %, engendrant en 2014 des revenus de 346,8 millions de dollars américains.
