It’s no surprise, then, that the couple decided to try for another baby – and now they can exclusively reveal to OK! that Lacey is 16 weeks pregnant. “We feel so lucky to be expecting our second baby, as it took so long to get Dusty,” says Lacey, 32, who’s due in February. The journey to parenthood was a long and heartbreaking one for the couple. Lacey suffered two miscarriages before becoming pregnant with Dusty. Both were at seven weeks. Afterwards, Lacey underwent tests to determine any medical issues (there weren’t any) and a period of six months where they didn’t fall pregnant, before having Dusty in July 2019. “We didn’t know if it was going to take years again so it was an amazing surprise,” says Matt, also 32. Following lockdown, EastEnders recently returned to our screens and this week viewers will see Lacey’s character Stacey Slater return to Walford to discover her estranged husband Martin Fowler [James Bye] is in a relationship with her best friend Ruby Allen [Louisa Lytton] and in true Albert Square style, there will be fireworks! “It’s always so much more fun to play a feisty character,” laughs Lacey, who’s been in the BBC show since she was 16 years old. Here, Lacey and Matt open up about their excitement at expecting their second child, parenting Dusty and Stacey’s dramatic return to Walford...

KIMBERLEYWALSH TALKSTOOK!ABOUT HITTINGEXPANDING HERBROODANDWHY SHEWON’TMAKEA RETURNTOPOPMUSIC

hen we catch up with Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, she’s in the middle of performances of Sleepless: A Musical Romance Walongside fellow West End star and singer Jay McGuiness. The 38-year-old is bursting with pride that the show is one of the first to be back on stage amid the coronavirus pandemic, but says they’re taking no chances and she’s “tested every day” for the virus. Away from her successful theatre career, Kimberley is mum to sons Bobby, six, and four-year-old Cole with her husband Justin Scott, 38, and gushes in our interview about their close relationship and how they make it work when she is busy performing. Although, she adds, “We’re definitely going to have to organise a couple of date nights in the next few weeks, so we can have a little bit more time together.” Sadly, questions about fellow members of Girls Aloud are off-limits after it was announced that Sarah Harding is battling breast cancer, but she’s more than happy to discuss her own personal life. Here, Kimberley reveals how she’s coped over the last few months, how she feels about hitting the big 4-0 next year and the high standards she sets herself...

WWW.OK.CO.UK 37 How did you find the lockdown experience as a mum with two young children? Initially, I was quite overwhelmed at the thought of being stuck at home for, well, we didn’t know how long it was going to be! But after a few weeks, I worked out what it was going to be like and I didn’t actually find it that bad. The boys had each other, which was great. There were parts of it that were tough – the homeschooling was hard!

How did you find playing teacher? It’s not for me! I’ve got a lot of admiration for teachers out there. I quite liked seeing Bobby’s progress, and being able to see it for yourself was quite rewarding. I felt for Bobby after a while, because it doesn’t feel natural for him to be taught in that environment. His attention span was short and it started to make him emotional and upset towards the end.

Are Bobby and Cole close? Really close! There are only two years between them, so they’re thick as thieves. There’s no in between, so absolute love or fighting [laughs].

Will they follow in your footsteps and go into performing? Bobby shows a lot more signs of it at the moment, whereas Cole is more into his Kimberley and football and sports. Bobby is a natural Justin with performer – I don’t know whether it will their sons transcend for it to be in public or whether he just likes doing it for us. He may go down that road, but at the moment he think about it. They also love being with him. likes entertaining the family. You mention your work commitments Are you and Justin like yin and yang? and you are a mum of two. Do you and We’re quite similar, but you’d think opposites Justin get much time together just the attract. We’ve got quite similar personalities two of you? and we’re both quite laid back – he’s more We’ve had lockdown, which was really lovely laid back than me. I liked my thirties as well; there’s no everything that I would do and I don’t have to point being miserable about it.

38 WWW.OK.CO.UK 39 What advice would you give your younger self? To go a bit easier on myself. In general, I want everything to be perfect and I judge myself quite harshly. Everything in work and life has to be perfect, but as you get older you think, “That’s not what’s important in life.”

You’re playing Annie in the theatre version of Sleepless In Seattle. How is it going? We’re the first fully staged musical [back on since lockdown], definitely in England and a lot of other countries as well. It’s going to be one of those weird things that goes down in history to add to the CV. People have been really happy to be out watching a show again and they feel really safe because of all the measures our producers have put in place. They’ve done so much so people can come back to the theatre and enjoy it again. Everybody’s thrilled to be back at work and on stage, so we’ve enjoyed every minute of it. It’s good for the industry and good for people to see how it can work moving forward.

You also worked with Jay McGuiness on the theatre production of Big The Musical last year. What’s it like being back on stage with him? It’s really nice, actually. We’re such good friends and because we’ve worked together for so long, it’s really easy. Because we got locked down in March, we had to pick up where we left off, so it’s been an advantage that we know each other so well. He’s very easy to work with and a lovely guy as well.

hey may not be reuniting romantically, but BRADPITT Tand JENNIFERANISTON have reunited professionally for their latest TV project Fast Times At Ridgemont High. The pair did a table read over Zoom of the teen comedy set in 1982 alongside the star-studded cast, which includes John Legend, Julia Roberts, Morgan Freeman and Matthew McConaughey. This will mark the first time the former couple have been on screen together since 2001, when one year into their marriage, Brad, now 56, made a guest appearance on Friends as Will Colbert, who was a key member of the ‘I hate Rachel Green’ club. Rachel was, of course, played by Jennifer, now 51. After their bump-in at the SAG Awards in January, it seems in real life there’s nothing but love between them. JLOANDHAVING FUNINTHESUN

How do you find being parents to twins? Katie: I’ve always wanted twins. I was actually carrying three, but we lost one very early on. We’d been trying for seven years and I’d had miscarriages, so when I found out we were having twins, it was like all my dreams had come true. It’s been the best experience! Lawrence: It’s been the easiest experience, it’s not been tough at all.

Do they get on well with each other? Lawrence: I’ve done it both ways. With a single child, at the age of two they’re climbing up your leg, running up or down. But when they have a sibling the same age, they play together. A lot of people say ‘double the trouble’ but actually it’s easier! Katie: And they are both unique, even though they’re twins. How did you two meet? Lawrence: I was married for 14 years and then single for six. Kate was in a relationship for nine years. That broke down, thankfully for me [laughs]. I met Kate once while she was with her previous boyfriend, and I really liked her but I didn’t see her for two years because she was in a relationship. She never spoke to me in that time. We met again in a bar 50 yards from where we lived, and because she’d ignored me for two years, I decided to ignore her! She came over, tapped me on the shoulder and said, “How are you?” I said, “Do me a favour, you haven’t spoken to me for two years!” She came over again, and I did it again. The third time, I knew I was going too far, so we started chatting. I knew when I first met Kate that she was the one. Katie: We got married two years later.

Working and living together in the same place, do you ever have disagreements? Lawrence: All the time! [Both laugh] I think any couple would say that working together is tough. We’ve got a rule that we don’t speak about work after 8pm.

I had to put on thick foundation and when I was filming I was like, “I don’t want to show this side of my face.” Some days I didn’t even want to go out. When I was talking to people I thought they were all looking at my skin.

Your skin looks perfect now… I’m 30 this year so I promised myself I was going to have amazing skin for my birthday in December. You know what, my skin to me is now perfect. I don’t have to slap on the foundation. I’ve tried everything but I’ve finally found what works for me.

Tell us the secret! I started to take collagen supplements daily and it seemed to make a difference. So I went away and, with the help of a team, formulated my own unique version with aloe vera, hyaluronic acid and 8,500mg of collagen, which is quite a lot. So here we are now – it’s called Revive Collagen. It’s really what’s worked for my skin.

What does your skincare regime look like? I keep it really simple and just cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day. I use the pHformula E.X.F.O. Cleanse (£45). It’s really gentle. My acne has also left me with some scarring so I have professional microneedling in those areas.

Would you ever be tempted to delve into other anti-ageing procedures? Not now. Other than sorting out my skin scarring, I stick to a nice skin routine, take my collagen and make sure I’m drinking enough water. I don’t necessarily think I need to take further measures.

Any make-up favourites? I love Nars Sheer Glow Foundation (£33.50) and By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum (£61). I also use Benny Hancock Bronzer (£39) and I do my brows with the Iconic London Sculpt & Boost Cushion (£24). I wear Tatti Lashes (from £9) because I haven’t got any , but not every day.

Party season is looking unlikely this year, but to comfort myself I like to imagine there’s an alternative version of 2020 where we’ll all be swishing around soirées in our glitziest glad rags. Essentially I want to escape through a trans- dimensional wormhole into a Dior perfume ad where I will emerge looking like Charlize Theron, shimmying into a ballroom sheathed in gold from top to toe. And what does the refined air of this fantasy universe smell like, you may ask? Well, judging by Dior’s new J’Adore Eau de Parfum Infinissime, £84, it will be a deliciously hedonistic blend of sandalwood, tuberose, pink peppercorn and blood orange. At least I can spritz, and dream.

Balanced 2approach

Excuse my smug face, face but I can now genuinely say II’ve’ve got a daily diet of probiotics, protein and 10 servings of vegetables. Admittedly, this doesn’t actually involve anything going in my mouth – my food intake remains largely pizza-based, I’m afraid – but at least there’s plenty of nutritional goodness in my latest skincare find. Skingredients is based around the ‘core four’ which promises to provide all the key ingredients of any balanced skincare regime. There’s the PreProbiotic Cleanser, £24, Skin Veg pre-serum, £39, Skin Protein serum, £39, and Skin Shield SPF 50, £39, which gives the sort of healthy glow you’d expect in someone who does actually drink raw celery smoothies.

94 5 Vanishing act

The salons have been open again for ages, yet I still haven’t had a haircut since 2019. My ends are now so ratty, I thought the only option was to hack off at least six inches, but there has been a last-minute intervention. This has arrived in the form of Living Proof No Vanishing Oil, £33, which has miraculously transformed the look of my hair, spinning silk from straw. Seriously, it’s the nearest I’ve found to a Brazilian blowdry in a bottle. Or, as my 4 husband put it, “It’s like you’re in the show ring at Crufts.” Woof, woof! Four play

The retreats vary in length from three to five days and have a diverse mix of abilities, ages and professions, and all feature morning and evening yoga sessions taken by experienced instructors (on our retreat one teacher was Rosie Underwood, a former Beauty Director at We loved OK!). There were also meditation classes the four- and massage treatments to further aid poster beds relaxation.
