St. Mary School – Uniform Code and Shoe Examples

Dress uniform and casual uniform : This shoe is to be worn year round with casual and dress uniform. If wearing the old uniform during the grandfathered year, your old shoe is permitted. If in the new uniform, you must be in shoes per the code below.

Color: Black Material: Leather or suede. No canvas fabric (similar to TOMS), mesh, patent leather or metallic material. Soles: Black. No contrasting sole colors such as white, brown, red, green, etc… Style: Lace up oxford, loafer, , suede style (similar to Merrell mocs). No TOMS, ballet flats or (such as Sperry’s) styles. Embellishments: No bows, ornamental buckles (such as on the toe of the shoe), tassels, quilting or patent leather toe. If stitching is apparent, it must be black. Laces: If a tie shoe is worn, laces must be tied tightly and should be black.

PE Shoes: Any sturdy athletic shoe may be worn. No high tops, slip-on, twinkling or light up shoes. Shoes must provide adequate support for athletic activities.

Please find example shoe options below that are within code. These are by no means the only shoes you may wear. They were found on Lands End, Zappos, Payless and other vendors however you are free to purchase from wherever you prefer. We strive to ensure that your children are comfortable while maintaining a uniform appearance.

Socks:

 Shorts (K-5): white above the ankle (crew socks or fold over socks)  Skorts (K-5): white above the ankle socks (crew socks or fold over socks)  Pants: black crew socks  Girl’s jumper (K-5): navy knee socks or black . No white socks permitted.  Girl’s (6-8): navy knee socks or black tights. No white socks permitted.  PE Uniform: white above the ankle socks (crew socks or fold over socks)
