The thesis is written in the period January-May 2016, and has been conducted under the supervision of Professor Svein Bråthen from Molde University College. I would like to express my gratitude to Professor Svein Bråthen for all the help he has provided during the development phase of the thesis, as well as his help with the formation of the questionnaires. André Ree Abstract The purpose of this thesis is to study the effects air transport have on regional economic development, in a Norwegian context. The thesis consist of three analyzes, all with the intent to determine if, how and why these effects occur, and what relevance they have for economic development in rural and remote locations. The thesis shows that there is a relationship between air transport and economic development, in addition there are indications that air transport will effect different sized economies in different manners. Furthermore, there are indications that these effects would occur in the long and/or short run for a set of Norwegian airports. In addition, the thesis quantifies the employment effect generated from air transport, these results indicate that with a 10 percent increase in passenger volumes, one could assume that employment would increase by 0,9 and 1,2 percent. Similar results are shown in service sector employment. These types of econometric analyzes have to this authors knowledge not been conducted in a Norwegian context before, and the results should be of great interest for the stakeholders and legislators invested in Norwegian air transport. The effects shown in this thesis indicate that the supply of air transport in a region will generate employment effects and increased productivity. For a region the increased accessibility air transport creates, serve as a tool to attract qualified people to the local industry, and further develop this industry thru knowledge sharing facilitated by the presence of air transport. In addition, the results of the thesis serve as a confirmation, that the government’s goals of ensuring activity in the peripheral is met. In addition to the economic effects generated at the aggregated level, the thesis presents results of a survey conducted in the Sogndal region. This survey does not represent the population in a sufficient manner, and is therefore not applicable to determine how air transport effects the Sogndal region. For Sør-Varanger er det benyttet tall fra året for. Tabell 1 fordeler sosialhjelpstilfellene etter seks ulike familietyper: Enslige menn og kvinner uten barn under 18 år; enslige menn og kvinner med barn under 18 år; og par med og uten barn under 18 år (i par inngir både ektepar og samboerpar). Stønadstilfeller pr. 1 000 innbyggere er regnet i forhold til folketallet ved utgangen av kalenderåret. Tabell 2 oppgir verdien av brutto utbetalt økonomisk sosialhjelp både totalt og fordelt på bidrag og lin. Beregningen av gjennomsnittlig stønadsbeløp pr. år er gjort med utgangspunkt i klienter hvor stønadsbeløpet er oppgitt. I enkelte tilfeller er det registrert sosialhjelpsmottalcere i statistikken uten at stønadsbeløpet er oppgitt. Det er derfor ikke alltid at antall stønadstilfeller i tabell 1 dividert på totalt utbetalt stønad i tabell 2, gir det gjennomsnittlige stønadsbeløpet som er oppgitt for kommunen. Tabell 3 gir en fylkesvis oversikt over antall årsverk i sosialtjenesten ved utgangen av 1997. NORGES GEOLOGISKE UNDERSØKELSE ABSTRACT The Råna synorogenicCaledonide intrusion in north Norway contains pentlandite+pyrrhotite+chalcopyrite+pyritedisseminationsgrading up tO 0.8% sulfide nickel in peridotite in the northwesternpart of the body. Peridotite and pyroxenite occur as bands and lenses within a peripheral zone mainly of norite, around a core mainly of quartz-norite.Crystal settling appears to have been an important process at Råna but over much of the intrusion primary structureshave been severely disturbed by the later Caledonian fold phases which also involved local overthrusting: these movements resulted in iniolding and thrustingof units of semipel- itic and calesilicate gneiss and black schist into the intrusion.The body has the form of an inverted, possibly truncated cone with its axiS plunging northwestwardsat a moderate angle. The peridotites show no obvioUs systematicvariation of sulfide or silicate mineralogy across strike. Locally, ass&iated with certain deformation zones, disseminationpasses into ma3sive mobilized sulfide ti with up to 5% nickel. The proximity of sulfide-bearingblack schists to mineralized rocks, the occurrence of graphite djsseminated in peridotite and other factors, suggest assimilationof sulfur from the Country rocks.     2009/24 Notater Manudeep Singh Bhuller Inndeling av Norge i Notaterarbeidsmarkedsregioner Forskningsavdelingen/Gruppe for offentlig økonomi 1 Innledning1 Formålet med dette arbeidet har vært å lage en inndeling av Norge i arbeidsmarkedsregioner som et alternativ til den inndelingen som foreslås i Standard for økonomiske regioner (NOS C 616) fra 2002. Mens SSBs inndeling av Norge i 90 økonomiske regioner hovedsakelig er ment som et hensiktsmessig publiseringsnivå for statistikk på et nivå mellom fylke og kommune, har den også blitt benyttet i arbeidsmarkedsanalyser (Hustoft m.fl. 1999). En svakhet ved denne inndelingen er at hver av regionene ikke tillates å inneholde områder fra mer en ett fylke. Som ledd i analyse av arbeidsmarkedet er det imidlertid ønskelig med en regional inndeling som er uavhengig av fylkesgrenser og samtidig er rimelig stabil over tid. Vi vil derfor understreke at inndelingen som foreslås i dette notatet er ment som et supple- ment til og ikke en erstatning for Standard for økonomiske regioner. Arbeidet med inndel- ingen av arbeidsmarkedsregioner er hovedsakelig basert på pendlingsstatistikk for norske kommuner for perioden 2000-2006. Datamaterialet som er brukt ligger tilgjengelig for alle på SSBs nettsted. For å operasjonalisere inndelingen for bruk i empirisk arbeid, settes det også en nedre grense på antall bosatte i hver region. Lie (2000) skiller mellom oppdelende og sammenslående prosedyrer for å danne regionale inndelinger. Ved oppdelende prosedyrer blir det en vil dele inn delt opp etter nærmere bestemte retningslinjer, basert på en teori eller idé om hva som skiller de ulike regionene fra hverandre. Excavations and interpretations of cairns in Løten, Hedmark. AmS-Varia 61, 99–114, Stavanger, ISSN 0332-6306, ISBN 978-82-7760-187-8 In 2015, the Museum of Cultural History organized a large excavation project in Løten, Hedmark with over 90 sites. During the project both clearance cairns and cairns interpreted as graves were excavated. The field at Skillingstad contained more than 100 cairns, of which approximately 40 were excavated. Although originally thought to be clearance cairns, results obtained over the course of the excavation demanded that this interpretation be reconsidered. In the area surrounding Skillingstad, four smaller cairn fields were also excavated, ranging in size from 4 to 21 cairns. Several of these were asso- ciated with small, oval, bowl-shaped fields that overlapped in time with the graves at Skillingstad. The plant macrofossil analyses returned few interesting results, but the cairns containing graves and the clearance cairns differed significantly in their micromorphological results. In addition, there were clear differences in structural organization and the relationship between the cairns in the grave and clearance fields respectively. The burial cairns were spread evenly across the site, built with uniform sized rocks and placed with respect to older monuments such that none of the monuments merged into larger units. In contrast, the clearance cairns were more randomly distributed across the site, sometimes cleared to one side of the field and at other sites in between the cultivated land and pastures.

Det har vært drevet uttak av bygningstein, mineraler og metaller som er brukt lokalt eller sendt ut av fylket. Selv om dette ikke er tilfelle i dag er mineralindustrien fremdeles viktig for fylket. Nordland har en variert geologi med mange typer bergarter og vil også i framtida kunne bli et viktig fylke for bygningstein. Fylkeskommunen har gjort en stor innsats, kanskje den største av alle landets fylker, på å øke den geologiske informasjonen for Nordland gjennom et geologisk fylkesprogram fra 1992-1999. NGU har gjort en stor egeninnsats men også trukket inn finansiering fra prosjekter som Nordland Mineral (NM) samt EU-prosjektene PNASTINA (Promotion of NAtural Stone deposits In the Northern Areas) og i dag NIBA (Natural stone deposits In Botnia Atlantica). Det er fremdeles kompetanse i fylket på drift av bygningstein selv om denne også er i ferd med å utarmes. Denne korte statusrapporten tar for seg kvernsteinuttakene i Ofoten og Sør-Troms som er dukket opp i forbindelse med arbeider i regi av NGU, NM og NIBA uten at det verken er gjort grundige litteraturstudier eller arbeider for å få en total oversikt.

Det legges til grunn at fusjonen skal være operativ fra 1.1.16, og det er i dokumentet fokusert på de avklaringene som må være på plass for at styrene skal kunne fatte sine vedtak, og for å få en styringsdyktig institusjon fra og med denne dato. Dokumentet er inndelt i to hoveddeler. Del 1 presenterer premissene for fusjon mellom Universitetet i Nordland og Høgskolen i Nesna. I denne delen er det derfor fokusert på å bringe klarhet i følgende: - Overordnede målsettinger/visjon for det fusjonerte universitetets virksomhet på Helgeland. - Fullmakter som skal ligge på Helgeland - Styringsstruktur for virksomheten på Helgeland Del 2 sier noe om bakgrunnen for fusjonsprosessen og hvilke politiske- og regionale hensyn og forutsetninger den endelige løsningen må ta hensyn til.

    10 Saltenposten Lørdag 19. juli 2008 Alpen skal erstatte Arhol Stormen Narve sørget i januar 2006 for at kutteren «Arholmen» tilhørende Salten Veteranbåtlag falt ned av slippvogna på Rognan og totalhavarerte. Nå er tiden kommet for utskifting. KNUT F. O LSEN 97 17 89 71 SALTDAL:«Arholmen» på 43 fot var stasjonert i Saltdal, tjente Veteran- båtlaget i cirka 10 år og var på mange lofotturer. Båten ble bygd på Rognan og endte dermed et langt og strabasiøst liv der,og ring- en var sluttet. Men nå har Veteranbåtlaget fått en henvendelse og sjanse til å er- statte tapet av «Arholmen» som de ikke vil la gå fra seg. Sjelden motorskøyte – Det er nåværende eier, pensjo- nert skipstømmermann og båtbyg- ger Arne Pedersen (85) fra Forra i Ofoten som har tatt kontakt med oss, fordi han vil at hans sjeldne motorskøyte M/S «Alpen» (37 fot) som er bygd i Saltdal i 1914 skal komme tilbake til utgangspunktet. Båten er en videreføring av lister- båt, som er båter som først ble bygd på Lista i Vest-Agder. «Alpen» ble bygd på Brenne av far til Harald Pedersen som igjen starta båtbyggerlinja på Røkland. Mangler 50.000 Arne makter ikke med båten leng- re.
