Aïda DEL

Programme designer, lecturer & storytelling coach Graduated from ENSad (Cinema & Animation) and La Femis (Scriptwriting), Aïda has been coaching visual storytelling for animation and cinema for more than 20 years. She works all around the world with directors, productions and studios, cultural institutions and prestigious schools – like Gobelins, Supinfocom (Rubika), Ensad, Université Paris 8, The Animation Workshop & Unesco IFPC…

Aïda’s goal is to help to find the strongest foundations inside each author’s project. The creative process will emerge from their first idea, thanks to motivated information, short writings and gestures. Then the emotional seed will sprout and grow, carrying a strong identity, genuine personality and universal empathy.

Juliette MARCHAND

Programme designer, lecturer & storytelling coach

Juliette is a French former student from ENSAD (School of Art Decoratif) in Paris were she learnt Video and Animation. After a career in documentaries which propelled her to many trips around the world, she directed and supervised 2D and animation. After an international career in different studios, as a director or , Juliette taught in MICA, American University in Baltimore and mentorised the animation MASTER at Gobelins Paris, animation school, for a couple of years. She also worked at DQ Entertainment in Hyderabad as artistic supervisor and later on as Head of Studies of DSK Campus Animation. After two years of programing animation festivals and events in Denmark, she co-founded the ATB online Chinese school, always working closely and faithfully with Gobelins.

Claire ESPAGNO

Storytelling Coach

During her 25 years career in animation, Claire has held various positions from Head of Sales to Line Producer to 1st Assistant Director and Head of Editorial Content. But most of all, Claire has been a Scriptwriter and Story Editor for more than 15 years, and has worked on over 30 animation series. She also founded her own production company, Songes, for which she currently develops several projects. Last but not least, she started teaching scriptwriting at Gobelins in 2019 and really loves it!

Niall LAVERTY

Lecturer, Gesture Drawing

Niall has been teaching gesture drawing to animation students and professionals for over 15 years. He is a part-time lecturer in the Animation Department at IADT (Ireland) and guest lecturer at Gobelins, The Animation Workshop and Filmakademie and has taught in-house classes at the award-winning animation studios, Boulder Media, Brown Bag Films and Kavaleer Productions.

You can see examples of Niallʼs work and from his workshops on 9 Lines. He is a writer and illustrator with At it Again! who bring Irish literature to life with their pocket guide books, prints and cards. Cécile BLONDEL

Storytelling Coach

After spending 5 years in the audiovisual industry as a special effects artist specialised in prosthetics for cinema and theatre, Cécile studied and worked in the field of Cultural History and Storytelling. From 1989 to 1995 she was a lecturer in Cultural History and associate researcher. She taught at La Sorbonne and Sciences Po, Paris. From 1995 she taught as a lecturer in European Art and Cultural History at the University of St Andrews in Scotland and then for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London.

She has been the Head of International Development at Gobelins since 2012, where she is in charge of the International Programmes: Summer Schools and Master of Arts in . Cécile’s next challenges include promoting and developing diversity within the school by working closely with SafeCampus, and developing new scholarship opportunities for international students of all backgrounds.

Gilad CARMEL

Storytelling Coach

Gilad has been working as an editor for more than 15 years, mainly on feature animation films (9, , Secret Life of Pets, The ) and animation series (Arcane, based on the game League of Legends).

Graduate of French national school FEMIS one-year screenwriting program, he wrote and directed live action short films, and is currently developing several feature films and TV projects. He teaches editing and storytelling at GOBELINS and other film schools in France. Yoshimichi TAMURA

Lecturer of Animation Principles I and II

After highschool, Yoshi studied animation in the CFT GOBELINS. He started at Disney in 1991, in France, participated to several TVseries as Gooftroop, and specials as Winnie the pooh and the christmas tree. He animated for Disney mostly for feature animation: Movie, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Tarzan and Atlantis. In 2002 he joined the DREAMWORKS SKG Studio crew in LA, and participated to movies such as Sinbad and the 7 seas. He learned 3D animation and worked on Sharktale, and Over the Edge.

After 4 years in LA, Yoshi spent his time on different projects as character designer, artist, and supervising or directing animation. He participated at least to 18 features (the last one was KLAUS), and several different series and commercials as director, storyboard artist or consultant.

Lecturer, Character Design

Nicholas is an Italian character designer based in Paris. He studied animation and film-making at Gobelins school and graduated in 2018. His graduation film “Best Friend” won the in 2019 in the category best student film.

After that he had the chance to work for different animation studios such as ( London), Baobab studios, Disney Television and , where he’s still working as the main Character designer for an upcoming feature film.

Biren Ghose has been the Country Head for Technicolor India for over 11 years. He has taken this 105-year-old arts and sciences Hollywood major’s India studio to an employee strength of approx. 6000 employees in the past year. This makes the India studio by far the largest single hub for high end Animation, VFX, Games and Computer Graphics [AVGC] in the world. Biren is a thought leader and an industry evangelist prominently featured in all the major industry markets and events across the globe for the past 20 years. He is a futurist and strategist and recognised by Government and Industry policy makers as a mentor and visionary in India. He has helped build global recognition for the Indian Entertainment industry in the area of Computer Graphics.

He continues to ‘invent’ new transformation initiatives to engage and lead Government, industry and academia in symbiotic engagements that help catapult the growth for skillsets, exports and start-ups.
