VISION

To be a leading international institute of technology for both teaching/learning and research.

MISSION

1. Primarily to produce high-quality bachelor’s degree engineers, and related technologists who are able to handle advanced industrial technologies and use English as a working language.

2. To conduct research and development in engineering and related technologies relevant to teaching and modern industries.

Brief Historical Development

1992 Agreement of Cooperation between Thammasat University and the Federation of Thai Industries and Keidanren to set up bachelor's degree programs in engineering

1992 Admission of the first batch of students to bachelor's degree programs in civil, electrical and industrial engineering

1993 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously laid the cornerstone of the Institute's main building

1994 Issuance of regulations on the formation and operation of the International Institute of Technology as a non-government and autonomous institute by Thammasat University Council

1996 His Majesty the King graciously granted the name "Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology”

1996 His Majesty the King graciously accepted the first Honorary Doctoral Degree in Information Technology (IT) from SIIT, which was humbly presented by Thammasat University Council

1996 Graduation of the first batch of students

1996 Master's degree programs in science and technology were approved by Thammasat University Council

1998 The Federation of Thai Industries and Keidanren jointly dedicated the Advanced Laboratory Building to SIIT on October 6, 1998

1999 Inauguration of the SIIT Advanced Laboratory Building was presided over by Mr. Paron Israsena, Former Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries

1999 The Federation of Thai Industries signed an agreement with Bangkadi Industrial Park to provide approximately 6 rai of land and a building for SIIT expansion

2000 The Cornerstone Laying Ceremony of the new SIIT Building at Bangkadi, Pathumthani, was presided over by Thanpuying Niramol Suriyasat
