Lག་གཡས་ས་གནོན་Lག་'་ལེགས་བz0ས་ཤིང་། ། CHAK YE SA NON CHAK GYA LEK KYANG SHING His right hand gracefully poised in the earth-touching mudra, Lག་གཡོན་མཉམ་བཞག་བEད་{ིའི་|ང་བཟེད་བlམས། ། CHAK YON NYAM ZHAK DUDTSI LHUNG ZED NAM And his left hand is in the gesture of meditation, holding an alms-bowl full of nectar. གསེར་+,་རི་~ར་གཟི་བIིད་དཔལ་འབར་བ། ། SER GYI RI TAR ZI JID PAL BARWA Like a mountain of gold, magnificent, he shines in splendor, ཡེ་ཤེས་འདོ ་ཟེར་m་བས་མཁའ་ད/ིངས་Gབ། ། YESHE ODZER DRA WE KHA YING KHYAP Spreading beams of wisdom light across the whole expanse of space. ཉེ་བའི་•ས་བ'ད་གནས་བoན་བ€་•ག་སོགས། ། NYE WE SE GYAD NE TAN CHU DRUK SOK The Eight Close Sons, Sixteen Elders and the like— འཕགས་ཚWགས་'་མཚWའི་འཁོར་+,ས་ཡོངས་བFོར་ཞིང་། ། PAK TSOK GYATSO’I KHOR GYI YONG KOR ZHING A vast, ocean-like retinue of noBle beings encircles him all around. mན་པ་ཙམ་+,ས་•ིད་ཞིའི་མཐའ་གཉིས་ལས། ། DRANPA TSAM GYI SID ZHI’I TA NYI LE Simply think of him and he grants the glory of the highest bliss: S4 [མ་Cོལ་བདེ་བ་མཆོག་གི་དཔལ་ོལ་བ། ། NAMDROL DEWA CHOK GI PAL TSOLWA Liberation from samsara and nirvana, the two extremes. ]བས་ན་འEས་པའི་བདག་ཉིད་ཆེན་པོར་གསལ། KYAP KUN DÜ PE DAK NYID CHENPOR SAL He is the Great Being, perfect emBodiment of every source of refuge. Visualize the form of the Buddha in this way, and imagine that he is actually there, in front of you. The instant that you generate this thought—as the buddhas' wisdom body is not constrained by limits like time or location—he will certainly be there. One of the sutras says: Should anyone think of the Buddha, he is there, right in front of them, constantly granting his blessings and freedom from all harm. The merit gained through visualizing the Buddha is inexhaustible; it is a source of virtue that will never go to waste. As it says in the Avatamsaka Sutra: By seeing, hearing or offering to the buddhas, a boundless store of merit is amassed. Till we are rid of all the destructive emotions and the suffering of samsara, this compounded merit will never go to waste. Also, whatever prayers of aspiration we make before the Buddha will be fulfilled. As it says in the Teaching on the Qualities of Manjushri’s Pure Land: Everything is circumstantial and depends entirely on our aspiration. Whatever prayers of aspiration we make the results we will gain accordingly. Generate firm conviction in these statements, and recite the following: kིང་Iེ་ཆེན་པོས་{ོད་fན་kིགས་མའི་ཞིང་། ། NYINGJE CHENPÖ TSOD DAN NYIK ME ZHING With your great compassion, you emBraced this turbulent and degenerate world, བpང་ནས་…ོན་ལམ་ཆེན་པོ་་བ'་བཏབ། ། ZUNG NE MONLAM CHENPO NGA GYA TAP And made five hundred mighty aspirations. པད་དཀར་~ར་བaགས་མཚན་ཐོས་Lིར་མི་fོག ། PAD KAR TAR NGAK TSAN TÖ CHIR MIN DOK You are as exalted as the white lotus; whoever hears your name shall never return to samsara— bོན་པ་Tགས་Iེ་ཅན་ལ་Lག་འཚལ་ལོ། ། TONPA TUKJE CHAN LA CHAK TSAL LO Most compassionate teacher, to you I pay homage! བདག་གཞན་`ོ་གམ་དགེ་ཚWགས་ལོངས་ོད་བཅས། ། DAK ZHAN GO SUM GE TSOK LONGCHOD CHE All my own and others’ virtues of body, speech and mind, together with all our possessions, ན་བཟང་མཆོད་པའི་tིན་E་དམིགས་ནས་འuལ། ། KUNZANG CHOD PE TRIN DU MIK NE BUL Visualized like Samantabhadra’s offering clouds, I offer to you. S5 ཐོག་མེད་ནས་བསགས་9ིག་ང་མ་ས་པ། ། TOK MED NE SAK DIK TUNG MA LÜ PA All the harmful actions and transgressions I have commied throughout beginningless time, kིང་ནས་འ+%ད་པ་mག་པོས་སོ་སོར་བཤགས། ། NYING NÉ GYODPA DRAKPÖ SO SOR SHAK Each and every one I now confess, with intense and heartfelt regret. འཕགས་དང་སོ་སོའ་]ེ་བོའ་དགེ་བ་ནི། ། PAK DANG SO SO’I KYEWO’I GEWA NI In all virtuous actions, of the noBle ones and ordinary beings, Eས་གམ་བསགས་ལ་Iེས་B་ཡི་རང་ངོ་། ། DÜ SUM SAK LA JE SU YI RANG NGO Accumulated throughout the past, present and future, I rejoice. ཟབ་ཅིང་'་ཆེ་ཆོས་Hི་འཁོར་ལོའ་sལ། ། ZAP CHING GYA CHE CHÖ KYI KHORLO’I TSUL Turn the Wheel of the profound and vast Dharma teachings, Lོགས་བ€ར་ན་མི་འཆད་པར་བFོར་E་གསོལ། ། CHOK CHUR GYUN MI CHAD PAR KOR DU SOL Ceaselessly and in every direction, I pray! Gོད་ནི་ནམ་མཁའ་~་uའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་། ། KHYOD NI NAMKHA TA BU’I YESHE KU Your wisdom body is like space Eས་གམ་འཕོ་འgར་མེད་པར་བXགས་མོད་Hི། ། DÜ SUM PO GYUR MED PAR ZHUK MOD KYI And remains changeless throughout past, present and future.

Then there happened different ones at different times. Some number of years ago, SARS happened, but I think it didn’t spread much. Our Dharma center, ABC in Singapore, invited the monks who do the Most Secret Hayagriva puja in Sera Jey, our college. They invited those monks who are specialized in doing the puja, and then also Lower Tantra College [monks]. They did, I think, Tsog Kong, Most Secret Hayagriva Tsog Offering, the eXtensive one. Then they did, I think, a wrathful fire puja and then I don’t know what else, but many others. Right after that the SARS stopped. The puja was done to stop the SARS. It was sponsored by our center, FPMT center, ABC. So that happened.

    Barom Kagyu Chodrak Drupju Chuling Year of the Iron Ox (2148) 2021 Important Dates Message from Venerable Sonam Tenzin Rinpoche: The past Year 2020 has been extremely difficult and challenging for all living beings, not just for us, human beings but also for all the animals sharing our same living environment. Last year, our planet Earth experienced some of the most extreme natural disasters, including decimating bushfires in Australia and the US, destroying many properties and killing billions of animals; devastating floods in Indonesia; earthquakes in Turkey, China, Iran, Russia and India. And of course, there was the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic affecting everyone, all the people of the world. These disasters are very timely reminders of the Buddha’s teaching about the impermanence of our very short existence on Earth. Now, Rinpoche wholeheartedly wishes and prays for “better situation” for 2021, that is for a Safe, Happy and Healthy Year 2021, for all the Barom Kagyu supporters, all the Dharma brothers and sisters and all the students and their families and friends. May many wonderful things happen in your lives. May all your wishes in accordance with the Dharma be totally and completely fulfilled. May your dharma practice flourish and may all obstacles to your practice vanish so that you move quickly on the path to enlightenment.   • THE DAY of MIRACLES the First Full Moon in the Tibetan Lunar Calendar
    THE DAY OF MIRACLES The first full moon in the Tibetan lunar calendar is celebrated as the Day of Miracles, or Chotrul Duchen, which commemorates the final day of miraculous display by the Buddha which lasted 15 days. The Buddha performed the miracles in response to a challenge from six rival teachers. These 15 days are merit-multiplying days in which any virtue created is magnified millions of times. The Day of Miracles which falls on 28 February this year is also the most special day of Monlam Chenmo, the Great Prayer Festival, where thousands of people, lay and ordained alike, pray, and make offerings of food, tea, lights or money to the Sangha. THE MIRACULOUS DEEDS OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI AT SHRAVASTI At one time, Buddha was staying with hundreds of fully ordained monks in the Bamboo Grove outside of Rajagriha. The ruler of that country, King Bimbisara, was one of Buddha’s greatest patrons. In loyalty and respect for Buddha and his monks, the King led many of his subjects to the practice of the teaching. Six heretical teachers were also staying there at that time, and their deceptive teachings were the cause of many unskillful actions. King Bimbisara’s younger brother followed these teachers and made great offerings to them, thinking that they taught the path to liberation. As a result he became defiled by error, so that even though Buddha was showing the glories of enlightenment, he did not see it. King Bimbisara persuaded his brother to give up his erroneous ideas but his brother replied, “I have my own teacher.
