Watch bridges move from the comfort of your home!

This weekend Region 2 will move two bridges into place. I-15 southbound in North Salt Lake will be closed Saturday, Oct. 24 at 10 p.m. through Sunday, Oct. 24 at 12 p.m. to replace the first half of the U.S. 89 Bridge over I-15. Motorists are advised to use I-215 to I-80 and U.S. 89 as alternate routes. The second half of the U.S. 89 Bridge will move next week, when I-15 will be closed in both directions between I-80 and I-215 from Friday, October 30 at 10 p.m. until Saturday, October 31 at 4 p.m.

I-80 westbound between Foothill Boulevard and State Street in Salt Lake will be closed Saturday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. through Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. to replace the westbound 2300 East Bridge. Crews will also install overhead signs and replace pavement in the area. Combining these projects to one night will save closing the interstate multiple times. The detour will be I-215 or Foothill Boulevard.

There are no safe viewing areas for the public to watch the bridge replacements. However, you can watch live streaming video of the 2300 East Bridge by visiting the Innovate 80 Website at, www.UDOT..Gov/Innovate80 .
