Chi Upsilon has proved beyond a doubt that they are worthy to become a chartered chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. In the past year and a half they have succeeded in developing a strong recruiting program resulting in thirty-three members. Chi Upsilon has made itself known with the students as well as the faculty of Iowa State University. The College of Business is very eager and excited to have such a dedicated group of business students working together. I highly recommend that the colony of Chi Upsilon become a chapter of the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi. The brotherhood and teamwork that has brought them this far will become a strong foundation for a chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. I believe that the pride and enthusiasm of the members of Chi Upsilon is the kind that is expected from the Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi. The Fraternity should be very honored to accept their petition into the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi. Fraternally Yours, NolaKay Kelm Chi Upsilon District Director EI 0554 INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY OF DELTA SiGMA Pl November 1,1992 Members of the Board of Directors 330 South Campus Avenue Oxford, OH 45056-0230 Before you comes the petition of Chi Upsilon Colony of Delta Sigma Pi. Since the beginning informational meetings put on by Bill Honan to the current time, it has been the goal of this group to become a chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. Wendy Harden a transfer student from the Alpha lota Chapter was of great help to the new colony. As the group began running like an existing chapter with officers, committees, speakers, recruiting and other projects, this allowed the colony to attract additional members. Guidance from Nolakay Kelm added to the polish of this successful colony. Also developing is the faculty and community support. It is without a doubt that the group will continue to grow and prosper in the future. It is with great adoration I support the addition of the colony to the brotherhood of Delta Sigma Pi. Fraternally yours, Mark Dorn North Central Regional Director 2505 Jensen Ave. Apt. 435 Ames, lA 50010 06/26/92 Brothers of the Board of Directors The Central Office of Delta Sigma Pi 330 South Campus Ave. Oxford, OH 45056-0230 Dear Brothers of the Board of Directors, I am very proud to be associated with the expansion efforts of the Chi Upsilon at Iowa State University. It gives me great pleasure to be given the opportunity to write this letter of recommendation . I am sure the future efforts of this colony will continue the great tradition of the fraternity by providing students with the necessary tools for success in the business world. Based on the colony's efforts, I am convinced that they will be a viable organization which meets the needs of the business students and university, as well as, meeting the objectives of the fraternity. I also predict the continuing noble tradition of brotherhood among its members. Based on the colony's great efforts, it is my pleasure to recommend to the Board of Directors the installation of Chi Upsilon into the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi. With Fraternal Regards, Brother William E. Honan District Director International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi P.O. Box 230 Oxford, Ohio 45056-0230 Dear Board of Directors: The Chi Upsilon Colony of Delta Sigma Pi is currently working towards obtaining their charter to become a new chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. The members of the colony are very excited about the possibility of becoming the newest members of such a great organization as Delta Sigma Pi. The colony has proved to be a worthwhile asset to the campus of Iowa State University and would be a tremendous asset to the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi. The individuals involved in this colony have shown a great deal of professionalism and brotherhood at various activities throughout the past year. These members have certainly shown their desire to be a chapter and I fully support their decision and encourage you to approve their charter. Fraternally and Respectfully, Steven M. Berg District Director International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi June 26, 1992 Amanda Griest, President Chi Upsilon of Delta Sigma Pi 300 Carver Hall Ames, Iowa 50011 Dear Ms. Griest: I take great pride in recommending the Chi Upsilon Colony become a chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. We started looking at Iowa State when I was the North Central Regional Director. As we progressed with this effort, I was impressed with the quality and motivation of the students attending Iowa State. Since forming, people from Chi Upsilon have hosted a Regional Kickoff meeting, attended the Regional Basketball Tournament in Iowa City and participated in the Officer Training School in Kansas City. During these events, I have seen the individuals mature into a strong group. This group always demonstrates teamwork, motivation and desire to accomplish their goals, which is needed to be a strong chapter. Again, I extended my support for the Chi Upsilon Colony by recommending they be chartered as a chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. Fraternally, 6^-l-^. The students of the College of Business at Iowa State University will benefit from the opportunities afforded by an organization that will support professionalism among business students but without the restrictions of the special interest groups or the grade-point requirements of the business honorary. The students who have started the Chi Upsilon colony have done a credible job in establishing the presence of Delta Sigma Pi on campus. I recently attended an informal reception at which they explained the organization to faculty members. Several of the faculty had been initiated during their school years so there is a ready-made support group for the potential chapter. Yours truly. The students and faculty here are outstanding and there is no doubt an excellent chapter will be developed in a short time. Previous to my accepting a position here at Iowa State, I was involved with the chapters at both the universities of South Dakota and Nebraska-Lincoln. At my arrival here, Iowa State also had a fine small program in business, with significant potential for greater accomplishments in teaching, research, and service.
