Yarn:

• 1 x Scheepjes Whirl (60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic; 215 g/1000 m), 768, Sherbert Rainbow. • 1 x Scheepjes Whirl (60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic; 215 g/1000 m), 766, Mid Morning Mocha’roo.

Hook: 3.0 mm

2 stitch markers Tapestry needle Scissors

Size and shape:

The shawl has the shape of a triangle and is crocheted in rows from one side to the other. You will alternate between two colours of Scheepjes Whirl without having to cut the yarn. The size of the shawl can easily be adjusted to the size you like by reducing or increasing the number of repetitions of rows 7–10.

If you use the same yarn and hook suggested in this pattern, the shawl will measure approx. 160 x 120 x 120 cm.

Colour distribution:

Colour A: Scheepjes Whirl, 768, Sherbert Rainbow.

Colour B: Scheepjes Whirl, 766, Mid Morning Mocha’roo.

Note: In the pictures colour A is green and colour B is pink.

Row 1:

With colour A, ch3, 1dc in the third ch from your hook (skipped chs counts as ch-2 sp), turn.

Row 2: 4

Continue with colour A, ch2, {1dc, ch1, 1dc} in next ch-2 sp, ch2, take off your hook and place a marker in the loop, turn.

Row 3:

Insert your hook in the first dc, pick up colour B and pull through, ch1 (does not count as a stitch, here and throughout), 1dc into st at base of ch, ch1, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch-2 sp, turn.

Row 4:

Continue with colour B, ch2, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch1-sp, ch1, 1dc in next dc, ch2, take off your hook and place a marker in the loop, turn.

Remove the marker from colour A, insert your hook in the first dc, pick up colour A and pull through, ch1, 1dc into st at base of ch, ch1, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch-2 sp, turn.

Row 6:

Continue with colour A, ch2, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, (ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch1-sp) 2 times, ch1, 1dc in next dc, ch2, take off your hook and place a marker in the loop, turn.

Row 7: 6

Remove the marker from colour B, insert your hook in the first dc, pick up colour B and pull through, ch1, 1dc into st at base of ch, ch1, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, (ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch-1 sp) to the last ch-1 sp, ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch-2 sp, turn.

Row 8:

Continue with colour B, ch2, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, (ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch1-sp) to the last ch-1 sp, ch1, 1dc in next dc, ch2, take off your hook and place a marker in the loop, turn.

Row 9:

Remove the marker from colour A, insert your hook in the first dc, pick up colour A and pull through, ch1, 1dc into st at base of ch, ch1, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, (ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch-1 sp) to the last ch-1 sp, ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch-2 sp, turn.

Row 10: 7

Continue with colour A, ch2, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, (ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch1-sp) to the last ch-1 sp, ch1, 1dc in next dc, ch2, take off your hook and place a marker in the loop, turn.

|6 dc, 5 ch-1 sps, 1 ch-2 sp|

Continue to repeat rows 7-10 until the shawl has the size you like. Make sure to end with a row 8 or 10. Note: When you make your last row 8 or 10 you do not make the last ch2.

Remove the marker from the previous colour, insert your hook in the first dc, pick up the previous colour and pull through, ch1, 1dc into st at base of ch, ch1, 1dc in next ch-1 sp, (ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch-1 sp) to the last ch-1 sp, ch1, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch-2 sp, turn.

Row 2:

Note: All ss in this row are made blo.

Ch1, skip st at base of ch, (1ss in next st) to the last st, cut yarn and fasten ends.
