ACE-Y SCARF

Show case your pride, or your favorite colors in this uniquely textured scarf.

SUPPLIES

About 900 Yards of Aran (10 ply) Yarn I used Deborah Norville Everyday Soft Worsted Solids in Snow White, Mist, Black, and Aubergine US Size 8 Needles Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends Scissors

NOTES

You can, of course, use any size yarn you want, as the pattern is very adaptable. Simply use the recommended needle size and increase or decrease the number of cast on stitches by a multiple of four.

COLORS I used the purple, white, grey, black colors of the Asexual Pride flag (hence the name), but you can use anything you like. Use school or sports team colors, pride flag colors, Hogwarts House Colors, or simply your favorite colors are all optional. The idea of the pattern is ease and adaptability.

INSTRUCTIONS

Holding two strands together, cast on 30 stitches.

Row One: *Knit 2, purl 2* to end.

Row Two: *Purl 2, Knit 2* to end.

Row Three: *Purl 2, Knit 2* to end.

Row Four: *Knit 2, Purl 2* to end.

Repeat rows One through Four until scarf is desired length.

FOR STRIPED SCARF Stripes are achieved by changing colors approximately every eight or nine inches. For me this meant changing every five repeats.

FINISHING One scarf is desired length (or you run out of yarn like I did), cast off in pattern and then weave in all loose ends. Make tassels according to your preferred method. I cut mine about a foot long, holding a strand of each color (so for strands total) for each one. By the time they were doubled in half and secured, then trimmed to about an even length, they hang about five inches long.
