After checking in our first cruise is at 3pm and takes us to Rogoznica. In the afternoon we will start a round tour cycling along the picturesque bay. Day 2 Primošten – Šibenik – Skradin 20 km In the morning we cycle from Rogoznica to Primošten. From there the boat takes us to the city of Šibenik located where the Krka River flows into the Adriatic Sea. After visiting the famous cathedral and the lovely old town we set off again. On the cruise we pass the lower course of the river Krka fol- lowing the river bend until we reach Skradin where we spend the night. Day 3 National Park of Krka - Vodice 20 km The magnificent port of Skradin is today’s starting point for our excursion by boat and on foot to the most famous part of the Krka National Park - its unique waterfalls. In the early afternoon our boat takes us to the harbour of Vodice, a well-known holiday town on the Dalmatian mainland. From here we mount the bicycles again for a round trip. Day 4 Islands of Murter - Nature Park Telešćica 27 km In the morning we cycle from Vodice to Murter Island, connected to the mainland by the lift bridge at Tisno. We cycle along the water front pass- ing by two very old coastal villages, until we reach a small landing, where the boat takes us on a cruise through the National Park Kornati, an archi- pelago in crystal clear waters which is known for its rich aquatic life. Our destination is the Nature Park Telašćica. In the evening a walk through the park leads us along the stunning cliffs of the island. The famous Silver Lake - known by movies of Winnetou - is also located in the Nature Park. Day 5 Island of Dugi Otok - Zadar 25 km After breakfast and a short crossing to Sali, today’s cycling leads us along a virtually traffic-free and panoramic road. We ride across the whole island. During the ride we’re treated to countless unforgettable vistas of the is- lands in the deep blue sea. We meet our boat for a crossing to Zadar, which for centuries was the political, cultural and spiritual centre of Dalmatia. Our guide takes us on an extensive walk through the myriad lanes of the lively old centre. 3,000 years of history have left their imprint on the character of this town and there are many things to be admired: the mighty fortified walls with their bastions, the loggia but also the early Romanesque St. Do- natus Basilica. Day 6 Islands of Ugljan, Pašman and Zlarin 33 km During breakfast the boat crosses to the island of Ugljan at the channel of Zadar. Today we have a lot of time to explore both of the islands of Ugljan and Pašman by bicycle. They have been connected by a bridge. We cycle along the East Coast, always with beautiful views to the mainland and the ocean. Afterwards our boat cruises to the coral island of Zlarin. Day 7 Island of Šolta - Trogir 15 km In the morning our motor yacht takes us to the island of Šolta. Olive and fig trees and farmland surround the streets. The spicy smell of rosemary fol- lows us throughout the whole tour around the silent island until we reach the village Grohote. During mid day our last cruise takes us back to Trogir. The afternoon offers enough time to visit the world cultural heritage and medieval old town of Trogir. After dinner it is time to say good bye to fel- low travellers, crew and guides. AN ROMAN PERIOD SHIPWRECK WITH A CARGO OF AMPHORAE ROMaN PeRIOD ShIPWRecK IN The ČaVLIN ShaLLOWS There are several hundred Roman pe- riod shipwrecks in the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea, the majority of which are devastated, but about a dozen of which have survived the ravages of time and unethical looters. They have been preserved intact, or with only minor damage, which offers underwater archaeologists an oppor- tunity for complete research. The very large number of Roman ship- wrecks is not unexpected, but speaks rather of the intensity of trade and importance of navigation on the eastern side of the Adriatic Sea, and of the dangers our sea hides. Roman period shipwrecks can be dated either by the type of cargo they carried or by some further analysis (the age of the wood, for example), and the datings range from the 4th century BC to the 6th century. The cargos of these ships were varied: from fine pot- tery, vessels and plates, stone construction elements and brick to the most frequent cargo – amphorae. The amphora was used as packag- ing from the period of the Greece colonisation to the late Roman and the Byzantine supremacy. There are remains of shipwrecks with cargos of amphorae that can be researched on the seabed, covered by Archaeological underwater excavation with the aid of a water dredge protective iron cages, and there are those that, as per documentation, need to be raised to the surface and presented on land.

Glavni suvremeni izvor dugo je bio odliĉni i dosad još uvijek najsustavniji pregled za cijelu jugoslavensku obalu iz godine 1955. [1955].1 Na osnovi istraţivanja skupine autora, koji su ponovo izmjerili opsege i površine hrvatskih otoka i otoĉića većih od 0,01 km2 [2004],2 u Ministarstvu mora, prometa i infrastrukture je zatim 2007. godine objavljena opseţna nova graĊa, koju sad moramo smatrati referentnom [2007].3 No, i taj pregled je manjkav, ponajprije stoga jer je namijenjen specifiĉnom administrativnom korištenju, a ne »statistici«. Drugi problem svih novijih popisa, barem onih objavljenih, jest taj da ne navode sve najmanje otoĉiće i hridi, iako ulaze u konaĉne brojke.4 Brojka 1244, koja je sada najĉešće u optjecaju, uopće nije dokumentirana.5 Osnovni izvor za naš popis je, dakle, [2007], i u graniĉnim primjerima [2004]. U napomenama ispod tablica navedena su odstupanja od tog izvora. U sljedećem koraku pregled je dopunjen podacima iz [1955], opet s obrazloţenjima ispod crte. Official entrance Lozovac Road approach either from Sibenik-Tromilja-Lozovac or from Knin-Drnis-Tromilja- Lozovac. From the entrance Lozovac you can (expect for July and august)* drive to the ethno village inside of the park, this is also the closest entrance for visitors who wants to go to directly to Island Visovac. If you follow the wooden path form the ethno village you will be back at the village after 2-3 hours depending on walking speed. (You will see lower and mid part of the park) *During the months of July and August visitors are transported from parking lot on the Lozovac entrance to the Skradinski buk by the buses which of course included in entrance ticket. 2. Official entrance Skradin ( my favorite) With car you reach the national park by road from Sibenik-Tromilja-Skradin or from Knin- Drnis-Tromilja-Skradin. Well arrived in Skradin, you will find parking very close to the center of town, ignore the pushy sales people how try to get you into parking lots at the entrance of town Skradin (You can always go back to them if main parking is full).
